Help-polished nickel vs chrome?
Comments (7)You will be able to find polished nickel towel bars, lights, etc., but they will cost a bit more, and selection may be a bit limited. Rejuvenation and Restoration Hardware are two sources that seem to always carry lots of polished nickel. Some fixtures mfrs -- Grohe, for example -- have limited selections of faucets & showerheads, and others have lots of polished nickel. I'm doing the same thing with polished nickel. I had to use chrome for the under-sink plumbing S curve and such; my plumber told me that if I wanted the plumbing to be plated in polished nickel, it would cost $250, and I decided that I just didn't care $250 worth. I also have chrome grab bars in the shower because my choices were brushed nickel/slippery finish and chrome/easy to grip finish, and obviously practicality is far more important than precise color. Good luck! Blue...See MorePolished or satin nickel for bathroom?
Comments (6)I've never heard it's better to have the same finish throughout a house. I don't think that matters one bit. We have brushed nickel in our master bath and polished chrome in our kids bath. The kids fixtures are so much harder to keep clean b/c the polished finish shows water spots so much worse. I vote brushed or satin for that reason alone. I wanted that crisp shiny look of the polished chrome against the white counters and tub/tile in their bathroom. But if I had to do it over again, I'd go with satin/brushed just for the cleaning factor....See MorePolished chrome vs polished nickel
Comments (52)My master bathroom has white cabinets , Carrara marble floors and counters all fixtures are polished nickel …i think they are a little ore upkeep than the chrome, but love the color. I need to change out my shower head…any opinions on using a chrome or satin nickel shower head even though the shower trim is polished nickel? I never wipe off my showerhead except when i clean the bathroom…lol...See MoreMixing finishes - Stainless vs satin nickel vs brushed steel
Comments (5)Our sink fixtures are a mix of satin nickel and brushed SS and they look fine together. Our lights are pewter. Our drawer pulls and door knobs are antique iron. Our pantry door hardware is brushed nickel. They all look fine together. My personal preference is to have hardware and fixtures in the same color "family" - usually broken down into "silver" or "gold". However, you can mix them up if you're careful bow you do it....See Morerobinc7
