OT: bug experts, anyone know what kind of “cocoon” this is?
Comments (13)Mantis... definitely a "helper"! Also, be on the lookout for the egg cases on your roses when you prune. If you MUST remove the cane or stem an egg case is attached to, then trim the branch to a manageable size and place it back inside the bush, or if the trimming is longer, you can push it into the ground like a stake. I don't know where you are located but noon to sunset where I live is much stronger that the weak sun is from sunrise to noon. Also, once it gets better light, keep in mind that the current leaves will never revert back to their former appearance, but new growth should improve. Good luck....See MoreMa Pdl
