I'm Baaaack! Living Room Refresh--Plan C!
Comments (21)I like the pelican, too. There are many ways to fill the space, but I would like to see him in the middle, one long piece on one side, and then two pieces (horizontal) that, together, would match the length and would be the same width of the pelican and other long piece. I would not use mirrors unless you have something great to reflect, but I would find similar frames, or something to connect the other art-- could be color, theme, matting, etc....See MoreLiving Room Refresh
Comments (17)Just a couple of thoughts...I second the suggestion to remove the doors that you don't use. It will dramatically change the look of that wall. You would then need to measure from corner to casing to determine whether the sofa could be moved there. However, I also think your current set-up is fine. Regarding replacing vs. recovering the sofa: you are right...cost-wise it's a wash. I wouldn't go to the cost and effort to reupholstered unless the sofa is very well-made and you love it. I would also go darker rather than lighter on the sofa for longevity's sake. Finally, I would keep the art piece you have until you find something that you can't live without. Its current position needs to be lowered so it relates to the table beneath....See MoreLiving Room Refresh? How to make it flow better?
Comments (11)How about some new sofas that are not dark to start. Also not reclining. A nice ottoman lets you put up your feet and still not take over the whole space. Drapes that are all one color and touch the floor for sure not dark colored. More lighting, if at all possible keep the furniture from blocking the entry into the space so maybe think a sofa and 2 chairs . Something lower for a TV stand and what I see is a great confusion over what style you want. I see formal stools with a country table . Mixing styles is an art and very rarely pulled off with real success so I would advise getting maybe some design help before buying new furniture to make this space the best it can be....See MoreLiving room refresh
