Should I get this media dresser for my bedroom?
Comments (10)Thanks everyone! Les917 - that is a beautiful beautiful beautiful piece!!! I think it is not wide enough though. Cindyloo123 - You are right, we need something on the tall side - we need approx. 3 feet high and want 4 feet wide to balance the width of the TV. Hubby had run all the wiring for the cable box and we really don't want to hang anything above the TV. We want some sort of cabinet/bookshelf/table/whatever for underneath the TV to hold the cable box but not show any of the icky wires. I am a sucker for painted/distressed furniture and I am glad to see many of you suggesting I go that route. Originally I did think that black might work, but with the kinds of fabrics that I am leaning towards with bedding/drapery, I think that vanilla or creamy colors might be best. I still am not even close to finalizing decision on the fabrics but I do know that I want lighter kinds of colors as opposed to dark. aktillery - that link did not work for me...See Morenew pool what color finish should i use.
Comments (1)Things to remember about water color: The blue, by and large, comes from the sky as a reflection. Up close, color is more affected by the actual color of the finish. For example, both white plaster and gray plaster with give a blue look to the pool with the gray being somewhat more intense from a distance but will look very different when viewed at poolside. Hue, tint, and intensity will vary. Things that will have an effect on this are time of day, surrounding environment, and what distance you are viewing from. UV rays cause fading. UV doesn't penetrate very deeply through water. The amount of blue normally found in the mix is very small, usually. I seriously doubt any fade will be noticed but inorganic blue does resist fading better. Many pools in Florida are screened in and thus, shielded from above anyway. Comments (9)gracie - i'm going to leak out my secret early.. i'm picking up the chair tonight!!!! :) :) almost embarrassed to mention that now since i made such a deal about this or that, not both. the vehicle repairs etc ended up not being near as much as we had anticipated. My b-day is coming up ... and DH was in a really good mood last night. He was just like,"why don't you see if they still have that chair you're drooling over and go get it" yay! I'm surprised it's not gone! so mahogany......See MoreWhat style and color chairs should I get to match my living room?
Comments (23)yes, I saw that. benjes, I didn't mean to suggest that your comment was for just me. I did suggest she move the photos, I just didn't say 'they don't belong'. I'm on the fence with it. If one doesn't have any worthy art, and the family photos are done in a way that look good, coordinate w/one another and properly sized, then I suppose you could do it. But for over the sofa, I still prefer one or two large pieces of actual art. or a mirror. and I'm loving this danish chair w/the teal cushions...See More- 6 years ago
