Choosing A Trim Color With Blue-Gray Exterior Paint

We are starting construction of our new build in May. Initially we had planned on a green exterior, but have been considering a blue-gray most recently. The house will be lap siding with a cedar shake on the gables. We are located in Kansas and the house will be surrounded by corn/soybean fields and pastures of Polled Herefords.

Without putting paint to the house, I think we like Templeton Gray or Charlotte Slate. We want something gray that reads blue. Firstly, does anyone have any thoughts on either color or additional suggestions? As far as trim color, do we use something like Edgecomb Gray or go with a more traditional white?

I appreciate any suggestions!

Ask your painter if they use SW or Dunn Edwards. Have them pick up a quart of each of your two choices in the preferred brand, and then have them paint a 4 foot wide swath from floor to ceiling on the front wall.

I would definitely try Alibaster SW for the trim. It is not stark white, but is white enough to to make gray pop. I am not a professional, but just letting you know what worked for my white trim after many trips to the paint store. I hope this helps!
