Home Office Help Please!
Comments (42)That one is much nicer and a better size than the glass one. Let me ask a question; How old are your kids who will be using this room, and how do they currently use their laptops? I ask only because I am getting the impression, which may be 100% incorrect, that the look of the room is more important that how the room works for them using it. Once we learned that it was for your kids, I thought that only one of them can use the room at a time, if you go the desk and sideboard route. I loved nosoccermom's idea above, so that more than one child has a place to sit and surf at the same time. Or do they usually just use their laptops in their rooms or in the living or family room. Do you think the kids will use this room? If not, I'd set it up any way that you'd like it to appear and feel for your vision....See MoreHelp us with layout & design of new home office (please)!
Comments (11)Thanks decoenthuasiaste! I think we will follow your advice and position the desk that way. This way I'll have the window to my left and can look into the backyard if I want, and also face the large wall where we can place a nice long & short bookcase with art. I think the reading area to my right (on wall that current has guitar and standing lamp) will look great. We are going to try a rug like this one to complement the more modern bamboo desk top and dark navy walls:...See MoreHelp needed! Arrange/shop for den/home office please
Comments (9)I like the arrangement with the desk under the window, facing into the room. That leaves room for a long console with enclosed cabinets and shelves on the wall under the tv for your printer and other storage. You can go as long as you want on the console. You have enough room to move your rug all the way under the chairs so the console can sit on the floor....See MorePlease help me to finish my home office❤️
Comments (8)So some simple changes are get a pedastal for the plant to raise the height to desk level or above and get an arc lamp for over the sofa. A collection of attractive large-enough storage boxes or baskets on top of the room divider book case might be cheery. Or some wire sculptures (do you have one there?) Funky animal decor It’s tricky to put a rug under an office chair with wheels, but in your case it might be worth it to do that to warm up/boho-up the vibe in the room, and then put a transparent office mat under the chair so the wheels glide This have any appeal? Fun rug I would get a perpetual calender or a chalk board for the blank side of the room divider bookcase....See Moretorreykm
