Help Me Pick a Faucet
Comments (15)Hi, I am back for more advice! I decided to go ORB on faucet, DH is on board. We reopened the discussion of a wall mount. And here is a picture of the white sink I have- you cannot really tell but the white is just slightly off from the warmer white glazed paint of the vanity. It bothers me a little but it could be the lighting in my garage too. (ignore the stainless steel in photo that was when i was deciding on faucet finish) So I was wondering if I should switch to a stone sink like one of these? The white sink was cheap- like 70 dollars and these are more. I also saw a miners pan hammered one online that was sort of cool but I wondered it it would be too rustic. And its copper which is get another finish finding its way into my house- and it might disappear into the dark top: Thoughts?...See MoreHelp pick a faucet for a small galley kitchen
Comments (13)Thanks everyone! @sjlhockeyfan - I am stumbling with the terminology here, but basically you understood what I meant - I don't want to have to hold the button to keep the spray flow engaged. @vinudev_liny: I've never heard anything but raves about the Hansgrohe Talis. My only hesitation is that the black buttons seem really prominent, and knowing me that will be the spot I stare at every time I open the front door! But it seems like a great buy and very reliable and functional. I need to get back to a showroom and look harder at the Grohe Concetto as @homepro01 suggested as well as the Delta Trinsic and some others that don't seem too gargantuan. It's hard because the more I look at online reviews, the more confused I am - the Hansgrohe Citterio has reviews that say it doesn't lock in spray mode. I'm oddly drawn to the Kohler Purist in the beautiful, beautiful kitchen of @fouramblues (hope it's okay to repost one of her pictures from another thread here). Although there too, the online reviews are mixed. I gotta stop reading this stuff! I went in wanting to have relatively few upper cabinets, and wound up with a lot, plus there's the whole sink not centered thing, so I wonder if a shorter faucet is better. @kitchen-reno, I'm feel relieved to hear someone else is in a similar boat, and I look forward to seeing your reveal! I'm definitely overthinking all these little decisions because most of the big decisions are already made, and I'm not absolutely certain we've done the right thing (despite years of consideration.) I'm restraining myself from revisiting those decisions by focusing on all the little details, which for better or worse seem ripe for obsession....See Moreit's the 'help me pick stools' thread again...my turn!
Comments (23)They're HERE! They arrived today. Sitting on my porch when I got home from work. Sorry for the cell phone photo but it's just a quick shot to show how they look next to my IKEA butcherblock countertop under my breakfast bar. They seem very sturdy. I was a little concerned about the legs as well but I think I could jump up and down on these. Those legs are more chubby and hefty than I expected. I really like them. I did beeswax them with the same finish from my countertops so they won't be sitable for a couple of days until that has a chance to settle into the oak really well but here is a photo of them......See Morebroken faucet, need another. Comments (14)Well, Graff doesn't do scratch and dent. Oh well. Called Moen and they were great. Didn't have to send them proof of purchase in 2003 or photos of the faulty faucet in action or anything. First they said they would replace only with a comparable pullout, but since the Extensa isn't made in Almond anymore, they were flexible. I selected a pulldown Level in stainless. Not as sexy as the Ladylux - but then, neither am I. Replacements have a $50 fee. I sprang for overnight shipping ($15). And since the Level is in stainless, opted for a stainless soap dispenser for $20 (list is $98) to replace my balky chrome one. I am VERY happy with Moen's service....See Morejhmarie
