MVIsland, the diagnosis of your problem was INTERVENAL Chlorosis ... lacey yellowing between the veins of the leaves ... caused by micronutrient deficiencis, usually iron or magnesium. That is why I recommended Ironite or Fertilome iron supplement. Also, as Mulio said, a good Miracle Gro type tomato food should contain all those micronutrients, but I recommended the Ironite + Epsoms salts as a booster. What Elskunkito describes sounds more like classic nitrogen deficiency caused or compounded by chronic wet root ball causing rotted roots which then cannot take up sufficient nitrogen and phosphorus (he noted some stiff purple stems along with the gradually yellowing leaves). Without pictures, I cannot confirm the diagnosis, just the same as I needed pictures of your plants to confirm micronutrient deficiency witnessed by intervenal chlorosis. However, what elskunkito describes, and he describes it quite well, SOUNDS LIKE gradual and general chlorosis moving from the lower and outer extremes upward through the plant. Why is this nitrogen deficiency (most likely)? Because nitrogen is mobile in the plant. That is, the plant is capable of moving nitrogen from where it is least needed (the cotyledons and lower, older leaves) and transporting it to where it is most needed (the growing tips). Nitrogen is essential for photosynthesis, cell division, new growth and starch (sugar) production. Why is there no nitrogen left in the old potting soil? Because nitrogen is volatile and evaporates into the atmosphere or is washed out of the potting mix by irrigation. Nitrogen must be replenished into the soil in regular dosings for proper plant health. Lastly, folks who continually repeat the old saw that seedlings do not require fertilizer are doing no one any favors. Stop it please. This instance with elskunkito's excellent description of symptoms as well as MVIsland's previous problem two weeks ago are just 2 recent instances that clearly prove growing tomato plants require proper nutrient feedings. In elskunkito's case, he clearly stated his plants are 8 - 10 inches tall with minimum 3 sets of true leaves ... and "a couple months old." THEY NEED PLANT FOOD!!! My caution to you all is to ignore these folks who repeatedly say tomato seedlings do not need plant food. They are only repeating bad, incomplete, uneducated information they have gleened from other uninformed or improperly informed people at other websites, IMO.

Hi Linda, Sorry for your problem. Dizziness is awful. Do you think you need a second opinion? Did you fall and hit your head before the dizziness started? Is there an ear-dizziness expert in your area? the doc I went to specialized in dizziness. Sometimes, it can be a problem with the otoliths in your inner ear. They are little pieces of gravel that help keep our balance. If they have gotten shaken out of place, you can remain dizzy. They are able to manipulate your head to get them back into place. I had sooooo much dizziness during perimenopause. It did seem to be related to my sinuses. I've heard alot of women going through perimenopause complain about their sinuses. I had a dizziness work up a couple years ago too. It started up after I had a colonoscopy. Long story short, it seemed to be caused by my GI tract losing all the good bacteria during the clean-out. After a couple months on a probiotic, the dizziness went away. I have since realized that when I abuse my GI tract, I get dizzy. Go figure. Anyhow......if I were you, I would get a second opinion. I can't make any promises, but I would be encouraged if I were you, that this might all correct itself, as you finish with perimenopause and stop having big fluctuations in your hormones. I had it and it's awful. Mine was caused by my high blood pressure pills. I really think the doctor was over medicating me. I've never had so many dizzy spells and trips to the ER as I've had for the past 2 years. I've been telling the doctor how lightheaded I get after taking those pills. So he stopped one and kept me on the other. Well, a little of the veritgo left but not completely, plus my ankles were still swelling up. Finally after have my heart started to race like crazy and my pressure over 210, I went back to ER. They admitted me and gave me a stress test, but they also checked my heart and kidneys. Everything came back good, even my blood work. Now the doctor on call started me on some kind of heart pill that will reduce my heart rate in case it started racing again. So far I'm just taking that pill plus my nexium and I will say I'm almost 98% better. No vertigo, no swelling, no feelings of passing out and no racing heart. I still feel a little panicky at times because I keep waiting for it to start happening again.

It might be a good idea to actually read over your insurance policy to see for yourself what it says. I would also ask for an adjuster (not your sales agent) to come and look at the damage. My son had a leak in his second floor bathroom which damaged the ceiling in his kitchen below. He had to tear out the tub/shower wall tile and the tub to get to the source of the leak. That tub/shower tile matched the tile wainscoting around the whole room and was no longer available. Taking the cast iron tub out involved removing floor tile. Just like your leak, the project became complicated. Neither he or I thought it it would be something that his homeowner's insurance would pay for, but a buddy of his told him he had a similar situation and his insurance did pay. My son did make a claim and it was successful. The insurance company ended up covering the cost of demo, the labor and materials for the new pipes, flooring, walls, valves, faucets, shower base, toilet, sink, vanity, tile and more. It also paid for fixing his kitchen ceiling. If my son hadn't upgraded to a few things like granite counters, heated floors and glass shower doors his insurance settlement would have paid for nearly the entire repair/remodel. It doesn't cost anything to file a claim so I highly recommend doing so. Hope you end up getting some satisfaction.
