do i need a bathtub in a master bathroom
Comments (19)pricklypearcactus - I have a copy of the bank appraisal for the house my sister is buying. This is the wording from the UNIFORM APPRAISAL DATASET (UAD) DEFINITIONS ADDENDUM (Source: Fannie Mae UAD Appendix D: UAD Field-Specific Standardization Requirements) Explanation of Bathroom Count Three-quarter baths are counted as a full bath in all cases. Quarter baths (baths that feature only a toilet) are not included in the bathroom count. The number of full and half baths is reported by separating the two values using a period, where the full bath count is represented to the left of the period and the half bath count is represented to the right of the period. Example: 3.2 indicates three full baths and two half baths. It does not appear that the 3/4 bath versus full bath is a regional thing. According to Fannie Mae, there are only full and half baths....See MoreWhat kind of lighting recommended for 7x12 master bathroom?

Comments (6)I have my dream master bedroom now (it could be bigger but otherwise it's fabulous). We just finished a remodel. The space was about 650 sq ft, which we broke up by taking 1/3 of the room for a walk in closet (by that I mean a small room) with built ins and a desk/sewing area. We took over an old linen closet and added a foot to the front of it to house a stackable washer and dryer (you will NEVER regret this!!) We added enough to the master bath to allow a japanese soaking tub and a walk in shower. Both were a big deal to us. I wanted to find a way to work onyx into the room, so we built a cabinet in our bay window which has an onyx top. That is our headboard. (The dog and cats think it's their bed LOL) I wanted room for a sitting area as well and decent storage. In our next house we are going to take one bedroom and turn it into a master closet with builtins as well and an island. In between that and the master we'll do a 2nd floor kitchenette (hot water dispenser for tea, beverage fridge, ice, etc with a small sink). It will be double sided. (the walk way will be inbetween the sides...it's a small bathroom we're removing for this purpose) then the master will be huge. We'll keep the tower as a seating area and replace the old (victorian) fireplace. On the other side of this we'll do the master bath. The stackable in this house will be part of the master closet. Just a hint on stackables in a closet...plan your water shut off valves carefully (close to the door since you won't be able to reach over to shut it off) And if I had to do it over again, I'd have made it one foot bigger to allow for storage of laundry soap and incidentals....See MorePaint color for bathroom where you apply makeup?
Comments (11)Half these people don't even understand what you're asking, although it made perfect sense to me and Alicia ^. She doesn't need a color that will flatter her and make her look good in her own fn' bathroom. She needs proper paint color and lighting to NOT reflect and give am untrue image. 10am-2pm, blue sky, sunny day, direct sunlight is the best way to get a true read on pigment. She wants her make up to match her face when she leaves the bathroom. I know you said you didn't like the pinky tones options. however, I have to vouch for that recommendation. I had this awesome little make shift, attics, studio/1 bedroom/efficiency/ no permit "apartment" with roof access from the bathroom window where I could see from the stadiums to center city and the Delaware River to Manayunk. I'm a hairdresser and an artist, I loved alone, had no lease and very little rent. I was able to do whatever I wanted to the place and I really made it cool. I started trading hair services for tools, supplies, furniture ect, anything I needed for the place. My goal was to fix, furnish and decorate it with spending the least amount of money possible. I LOVED that place. I ended up with a can of dark but bright pink, kinda like a rich, deep, bold fuscia. It was gorgeous. I was shocked how true it was to mine and my clients hair color, skin tone, make up etc. And I picked it because I wanted it to be bold and fun and artsy and different, but it really didn't look all that crazy. It was a big bathroom with alot of wall space too. Jussayin'. I know this post is 12 years old, but I came across it asking the same question and that's what I've heard everywhere from people who understand color theory and what you're actually asking. I got annoyed and wanted to add my 2 cents. I hate when people who have no idea what their talking about think they're so dang special they just HAVE to give their OPINION because they don't have the education or skill to give proper advice....See MoreEmily Jowers
