Can I use these pendants over my kitchen island with 8' ceiling??

This is my kitchen that is not installed yet. Cabinet color is marshmallow - Island color is dark grey.
This is a photo of my custom hood and my countertop -

Can I use black/gold pendants in this space. I have no other gold and do not plan on gold Hardware. I'm not sure if the pendants are too big for my 8' ceilings. Island is a little over 9 feet long and 42" wide. Can I get island stools or a kitchen table/chairs/chandelier to bring in the gold somehow?? The eat in kitchen is open to this area and open to den. Or should I just stick to black and chrome? I don't love the mini standard lantern look, and was trying to get something interesting and pretty. Thank you!!

They have this one with black and chrome, but I like the gold so much better. Thoughts?

An eight foot ceiling allows NO MORE THAN a total height for the light and its. mounting, chain, and fixture height......of 24 inches. ( 36 floor to counter top, 36 to to the bottom of the ficture leaves 24 to the ceiling ) A fixture 19 inches high is too large. you will have NO CHAIN at all. That is because the attachment at ceiling will use up four or five of those available 24 inches. Two fixtures , 14 inches high max, and 12 is even better.Two of these in the gilded finish, will look as exactly this ......on a nine foot island with an eight foot ceiling....it's te same light ( 14 inches h).....and see how little chain was used on install.,,,about three links.

Hi there,

I would advise using a minimalist style in your kitchen with just gold colour. How about LED lights that last much longer than traditional bulbs? They look great in the kitchen area, enhancing the interior. Please visit our website on Colville design to view the long-lasting led lights.

That is a nice chandelier. However, for a small space and low ceiling you might want to try something simpler. Thank you, All -- My ceilings are only 8' and I really wanted 2 or 3 mini chandeliers, but can't find any short/wide ones. I don't want super modern because my kitchen design is mostly traditional so far. I would like some glam, but not super contemporary glam. Hi there,

Minimalist style always looks great in the kitchen area when used as a cluster- it was my opinion.

Are you planning to use one of the lights you chose above the island, or have a few together?

I’m open to suggestions. I have an island that’s a little over 9’ long so I didn’t know if a cluster was wide enough.

Your kitchen island is the ideal length for a cluster of minimalist lightings like the one below.

I recommend this porcelain lights with a touch of gold fitting, it is a LED bulb that last 15 times longer than traditional bulbs :).

like Jan said..8 ft ceilings have some limitations..we went with ceiling fixture..no chain..again my kitchen is small..

No need to resort to flush mount.........just watch the specs on the fixture, and use a chain mount type for adjustability . Stay away from more difficult stem attachments

Darn! I was afraid they were too big.
But - is it OK to use aged brass color when the rest of the kitchen will have chrome handles and the hood is stainless steel with polished chrome?

I’m at lighting store now. How’s this? 10” wide x 11” high. Would I need 3?

I’ll keep shopping.

Your best option is a satin nickel. You have enough going on, as you have chrome accent already. Stay away from STEM attachments. Perfect below in all ways.......Go home. Size i 8 x 8 x 14. Really.......go home lol.

Just go home and order the last one, or the GILDED finish first one that also comes in aged iron black finish.. You aren't going to find the perfect one in a mortar box. It's like picking a tree from a forest. ........either one will look great. You have the limits of an eight foot ceiling. Not as common as it USED to be. As chain connecting is also less common. Far less common

What about this one in polished nickel? It's a little different version of the lantern and the size is 13.5" High x 16.5 Wide.

2 or 3??

And Do you have any ideas where to look for counter stools like this.... I don't like anything industrial or plastic. I love these, but can't find them anywhere

I'm not going to get into the conversation over height of pendant lights, but I will add that you should definitely mix metals. It's what gives kitchens visual interest, makes them look custom/new/modern, and keeps them from looking like builder grade. And that would be especially important to you because your kitchen is so white and could lean to the boring side if you're not careful. So in other words ... do not match your pendant lights to your faucet finish.

Oh Really?! Great! I was also worried about the all-white kitchen. I'll go back to search for Gold -- Any ideas for my short ceiling? I love the ones in the photo above with the black range hood, but I cannot find them or those stools ---

Back to the drawing board.....

I was trying to match the swirl of the glass doors --

But Jan showed me that these pendants are too tall -- They're 19.25" high Also, they're black and gold -- maybe too many colors?

But I'm open to other suggestions........

The Kennedy is fine. You do not need to "match" the swirl of the doors. Don't make brain surgery. And keep cabinet hardware to stainless, satin nickel.

The 19 inch orb does NOT fit. Sorry, no. Not unless you want to bump heads on them.

Yes - I realize the orbs are too big - if I can’t find a smaller version of something like that I’ll get 3 of the lantern style.

If I get a white farmhouse sink with polished nickel faucet, what style prep sink should I use in Island? I was planning to buy stainless steel with matching faucet to the main sink
