Hooker Entertainment Center vs. Riverside Entertainment Center
Comments (14)I own several Hooker furniture bookcases and an armoire (2001) as well as a Riverside bedroom set (2003). Both have been moved several times and I have no complaints about either one! I should also note that the Riverside bedroom set was used in a rental property. I think both have held up very well over the years....See MoreEmpty nest! Comments (4)I would take off the indent above the fireplace, replace the mantle with the same size piece of wood, and update the tiles. Gut the area where the TV is now and have a custom cabinet, flush with the fireplace wall, with an open shelve for the TV just a few inches lower than what it is now. Below the TV two wide drawers, one about 5 or 6 inches deep and the other about 11 or 12. Above the TV, two cupboards....See MoreNeed advice on how to center entertainment center
Comments (19)We are for sure doing away with the black trim! Lightening everything up! This house was added on to several times, which is why the layout isn’t what one would consider ideal. The wall with the large opening/thick black trim was actually an exterior wall at one point (the room in question didn’t exist then). At a point after that, the wall that will have the entertainment center was an exterior wall. Then they added the master suite onto that which is the doorway to the right of the entertainment center. I like the “open” concept with the large opening, but I also realize that comes to the detriment of easy furniture placement decisions. Only 2 doorways into the living room. One from the dining room, one from the master bedroom....See MoreEntertainment Center Advice Needed
Comments (5)What are the positives? it seems to fit really well into that particular location and looks to handle your TV, unless you plan to get a larger one. Consider updating it with some interior lighting. LEDs are available everywhere and can make a big difference. When lighted up, you might want to do some tweaking to the interior. You can paint or wallpaper custom cut luan or foam core to fit in the back of the shelves. You could also replace the wood shelves with glass ones to lighten the look somewhat. Unless the items inside are precious to you, consider using one piece of pretty colored glass on each shelf. The light shining through will look very nice....See MoreRelated Professionals
