Something destroyed my lawn, help
Comments (1)That looks like Skunk damage. Happened to me last fall, seems like you had/have a good amount of grubs. You might not be able to see grubs just yet as they're still hidden deep under for protection from the cold, the best thing you can do is wait until mid June to beginning of July to apply GrubEx from Scotts which is a grub preventer, or you can try a killer from Bayer which uses a chemical I believe was called "Sevin". Or you can do research on a long term prevention called "Milky Spore" but first check to see if they're grubs, skunks btw are nocturnal and only come out at night. If there food source is gone (grubs) chances are the skunk won't return anymore...See MoreHelp me identify what is growing in my lawn

Comments (10)"When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." I think that came out wrong. I was not hinting at anything you said. I was setting up for what I was about to say. My hammer is corn meal, which in the organic world is recognized as a fungal disease preventer and cure. The nail is your yellow grass. When I see the yellow grass, I assume it is a fungal problem. I can see where that could easily be misinterpreted. Sorry. YES, you have to wait until late summer to reseed. Why? Well you don't have to but if you want good results, wait. Seeding now will give you a yard full of crabgrass right away and later on, any grass that did germinate will die from the heat allowing the crabgrass to fully take over. If you want to fix that for the future, you could seed in some Kentucky bluegrass in the late summer. It will spread to fill in weak spots where fescues do not spread....See MorePLEASE help me identify what's on my lawn!
Comments (3)Something like wild strawberry or false strawberry? Digging out shouldn't be necessary, I'd try Weed B Gon with Crabgrass Control first (CG control is a stronger herbicide). If it shrugs at that, then maybe removal would be a good idea, but I'd count on having plenty of seeds in the soil. Use a pre-emergent in spring....See Morempikk72
