Insulated second floor and now the 1st floor is colder???

Hey folks!

Interested in hearing some opinions.

We have an old house, and it was/is leaky - as they are. We have had insulation blown in to the walls a year ago but one room was not done so we redid by stripping down to the studs, sealing every crack between the siding, the studs, everywhere and then putting up R21 insulation bats, followed by drywall. Now, this is a room where you could feel the wind and cold permeate through the wall. It does not do that now. Score!

Now, what we are feeling is that the first floor air tends to feel a lot cooler than before and we find ourselves turning up the heating a few degrees more than before.

Could there be/is there a connection?
