I myself would not use the snow method. It works, but I worry if it all melts then it becomes super cold, you will have a problem. The roots can freeze, you just don't want them saturated in water when it happens. I would water the first of the month. A light watering too, not your normal soak it good watering. Enough to wet the surface only. If it looks super dry add water. It is hard to tell, and hard to say what is enough. Experience helps! Like when you overwinter bulbs indoors in say peat moss. You barely get them wet. Too wet and they rot, too dry and they dehydrate. If you use snow, don't pile it on, just coat the surface 1/2 inch. If that all melts, it's not too much. I have overwintered bulbs, but never plants. this is my first year too. Most of my blueberries are in ground. I harvested my last handful about a week ago.

It probably can benefit from a peat-bark mixture like 5-1-1 or any ratio, peat would hold more water. You could use burlap to wrap the pot, even the bush itself. it will not need light soon if not dormant already. Also it may lose leaves even if they say it doesn't. So don't worry if that happens. I suggested other methods also so did Al, so whatever you want to do. If dormant it will stop growing. Even if dormant, if it dries completely out it could die. Too wet too! Sounds like your soil mix is losing a lot of water. I doubt the plant is using it. If it has stopped growing, I'm sure it has, you can repot it. Buy some peat and mix in exisiting soil and put back in the pot. I'm watering mine about once every 2 weeks now. Staying moist at least that long. Also if temps drop below freezing it will be dormant at that point. If you repot you can check on roots, see if healthy or brown and rotted. i can't imagine even in pure bark it needs water daily. That is very strange. Is it a clay pot?

Your biggest issue is not which variety to grow, but finding or building good soil. While there are pockets of good acidic loamy soils in MTN, it is more typically thin, neutral, clay/chert on limestone bedrock, or if you are up on the Highland Rim, acidic clay/chert. If you have the thin limey soils, then raised beds may be needed. The acidic red clay on the Rim will need lots of organic soil amendments. A soil test is essential. The one variety that has done best for me so far is Ozark Blue. Mine are just coming into good production, or would have been, if not for the big Easter freeze. I do have scattered berries on most varieties, but lost most of the crop on just about everything. Oneal is a good early variety. It needs more acid soil than most, but flowers over a long period, so spring frosts usually only get some of the earlier blooms. Others doing really well are, Legacy, Sierra, Blueray and Aurora. Blueray is probably the most heat tolerant northern highbush. Aurora is very late ripening and also suffered the least damage from the freeze. Star is a newer variety that a friend with a big blueberry farm near Lebanon really likes. It blooms late, but ripens really early. Aurora, Ozark Blue, and Oneal probably have the best fall colors, although most varieties are really good in that area. If you get a chance, go visit Kelly's Berry Farm just north of Lebanon. After many years of growing many varieties, they now grow mostly Ozark Blue, Oneal, and Blueray, along with some of the old rabbiteye standards, Tifblue and Climax. Unfortunately, they will not have any blueberries this year due to the freeze. They do still have some strawberries, although it is getting late in the season. They also should have a good blackberry crop by summer. Avoid the shade as much as possible. I just moved some bushes that got some partial shade. They just did not grow much or produce well at all, but the same varieties out in full sun were doing great. ~kiwinut

Wonder if you ever found out the problem with your blueberries. It might be that the location may be too hot. I find that part shade [dappled] to full shade seems to work the best for the blueberries. Blueberry leaves will fry in the full sun here in our desert climate. Make sure that they are planted in very composted and acid type soil. Water several times a week. I also provide overhead spray for humidity.
