Really unusual vessel sink filler - Tuscan
Comments (4)The first question you will want to ask is "wall mount" or "counter mount" faucet. We are in the midst of trimming out our bathrooms and went with a "Southwestern" theme in one and a more "Tuscan" style in the other. One bath will have a copper vessel and the other a stone vessel. In the bath that has more of a Tuscan theme, we chose Sonoma Forge faucets from Sinks Gallery (where we also bought the stone sink and pedestal). I will be posting pics after it's complete (unfortunately not for a few months...), but we feel the CIXX faucets from Sonoma Forge are not only unique and "unusual" but just plain awesome! The vessel filler is a wall mount (I believe they have counter mount styles as well) and it is a solid brass piece that weighs a ton. There is nothing on the market like it. I'll put a link to the faucet. We got a substantial discount for buying these faucets with the sinks, so don't let the retail price scare you off. ...although they are still expensive, they really make a statement. We also bought the matching Sonoma Forge shower valve in the same CIXX style along with the accessories for towel holders, TP holders, etc. If you click on the link towards the bottom of the page that says "see more ..." you'll see some of the other Sonoma Forge faucets that are available. One other note - from the photo, the spout looks smaller than it is in person. When we received the faucets I was pleasantly surprised at how substantial everything was - not only the wall faucet spout, but the handles - even the shower head (they were expensive, so we were a little concerned). Oftentimes I'm a bit underwhelmed when I get something that I've seen online but not in person. That was not the case with the Sonoma Forge products (or the sinks for that matter). They far exceeded my expectations. Here is a link that might be useful: Sonoma Forge CIXX Faucet...See MoreQ: Fillers/Cabinets Adjacent to Sink Bump Out
Comments (7)And a filler and end panel and blocking to the left of the DW to support the counter. The cabinet to the right needs an extended stile or filler if against a wall. And needs to have a finished end panel if exposed to the room. If this is an island, you've got to account for the plumbing and pony wall to the rear and how to finish that off. If this is in a wall alcove, I'd just make the whole run deeper and skip the posts. They add a LOT of expense and take away usable space....See MoreDoes an apron front sink need a filler?
Comments (5)Not sure why your KD thinks you need a 3" filler there. In this photo, the sink base was made to accommodate the farm sink. The dishwasher is to the right: And here's another way to do a farm sink that involves less site cutting for the sink. There are two 3" columns on either side, instead of a sink base with taller stiles. The kitchen was not finished at the time of this photo:...See More3" base cabinet filler next to sink
Comments (13)We had this issue and ordered the peg board but it would not work and had to be returned. (For the life of me I can't remember why.) So as a last minute alternative, our KC put in a row of tiny shelves -- my sister's original suggestion. It was awkward to retrofit but he got it done. And you'd think 3" shelves would be a waste but I now have cubby-holes for my long roll of aluminum foil, which fit nowhere else, my rolling pin, my mandoline and all its blades, and at the bottom I keep an ice bin full of odd utensils I don't often use. (Turkey lifters, anyone?)...See Morejean1
