Picking TCE Quartz for White Kitchen Cabinets
I am renovating my kitchen. It will have white kitchen cabinets and I have to pick TCE quartz and the same pick will be used for both the countertops and backsplash. I have shortlisted 3. just cant make up my mind on which one to go with.
My contractor says its cheaper for me to pick both countertops and backsplash as the same than spending extra on the tile work too.
L: I like this one the most but it has yellow specs in it which I am not so sure about. Will it be too yellow? (TCE 2034)
M: This one has mirror flecks in it. Will it look too shiny? (TCE 2026)
R: Too Busy ?

Comments (70)Steve I still don't have straining on mine and it's light. Sometimes there's a mark under my soap dispenser if there's a lot of water sitting, and I just wipe it a few times with my kitchen Enjo cloth. Where there's a lot of water sitting around the sink you really need to remember to wipe it dry. If I have a buildup around my faucet and soap dispenser while I'm cleaning my sink I also spray around that area. I only clean with hydrogen peroxide 3% diluted to 25% peroxide to 75% water. Let sit for 10 minutes. It doesn't take it right away, but I keep using my cloth and it just disappears. Things like mustard and charcoal or sharpie look like they'll stain, but after a couple days of just wiping with the cloth take them all away. Comments (4)I agree with above. We just had our cabinets installed and I had chosen a different Trim color based on a parade home my builder had done with that combo. Just had the cabinets installed and immediately panicked because the trim color looked way off in my space. Luckily I was quickly able to make the trim color change to cabinet color. A really great designer on here also brought to my attention that the can lighting, pendant lighting and under cabinet lighting was going to make it look even more different. Comments (6)The coffee table is fine since it will be separated by upholstered furniture in a different room. The kitchen table would work if your countertops are a solid white quartz and you are using upholstered chairs to soften the look. I wouldn't use the table if your countertops have any type of veining. You might consider a stained wood table with modern white chairs instead for some warmth, especially since your floors look like they are tile? Comments (5)First of all, your cabinets will not look like that chip. When they are installed, take a sample door to the stone yard. 6 years agoOf those choices, I like the middle one best. But after doing research, I have determined that there are some marble-like quartzes that are less white than others. So you may want to look around more. If you are doing a marble-like quartz and the backsplash is on the smaller side, I love the look of continuing it up to the backsplash. If a larger backsplash, you may want to consider tile. Here are photos of the counter continuing up to the backsplash.

6 years agoI would not do brown (but I am not a brown person). I would probably either continue the countertop up or do a white or gray subway tile backsplash (see photos). I prefer a light backsplash color and nothing too busy, especially with your countertops. I just removed a busy backsplash from my kitchen and I am so glad to see it go. Our replacement is going to be very simple, most likely I will bring up my counter (which will be a marble-like quartz). But my design aesthetic leans transitional/modern, and yours may be different. Good luck, these are such hard decisions!

6 years agoI love these colors for your backsplash (see photo). It is a mix of white and gray, but it is not too busy IMO because the color variation is not that distinct. I love this look. However, the backsplash in the photo is shown with a more veiny counter so it is hard to tell exactly what it would look like with your speckled quartz. They still might be too busy together.
