Using lots of landscape fabric to stop weeds …

I just bought a whole bunch of landscape fabric. I was so impressed with how well my garlic are progressing because of it. I’m going to duplicate what I did: basically dig up the ground with a shovel and rake in smooth with aged chicken manure, lots of it. Then later fabric over and pin it down. Then cut slits with a razor knife where I want to plant my pepper and other seedlings.

I’m also going to spread aged chicken manure all around my citrus, peach and nectarine, grapes, and Keewee‘s, then lay a small chunk around the trunk. I’m hoping this will allow the manure to get absorbed overtime, and stop weeds, and preserve some moisture from evaporating. I’ll take it all off at the end of season to let it breathe.

In my area weeds grow so aggressively that I won’t bother planting vegetables again if I can’t do this.

Only concern I have is the mole infestation will be given some cover. However, they’re already damaging a lot and I can’t do anything about it so far, so makes no difference.
