Bosch, Thermador, and Gaggenau are all BSH brands. You can frequently find the same appliance -- and their reviews -- sold under several brands and at dramatically different prices. For example, the Thermador T30IR905SP ($8500) and Gaggenau RC472705 ($9,540) column refrigerators are the same except for cosmetics. Likewise, the following three refrigerators are likely to be the same except for cosmetics: Bosch Benchmark B36IT900NP ($7100) Thermador T36IT903NP ($9000) Gaggenau RY492705 ($12,400) Be a savvy shopper and don't fall for the BSH BS!

So performance (not reliability)...my honest take: I don't think there is a massive gap between the best and worst fridge, certainly not enough to justify the price difference between say the Frigidaire that wdccruise linked and the Sub Zeros. You certainly aren't getting 5x the performance. Here's what you are paying for, imho: Aesthetic: the high end fridges typically install better when using a panel front and allow for the fridge to be flush with the counter. Function: Sub Zero has the best air filter in the business and the only one (besides Viking, which I do not recommend), that filters the ethylene gas produced by ripening food. It has a magnetic seal on their doors which improves performance but makes the door harder to open. Spill proof shelves that prevent liquids from dripping to the next. Nice food safety and convenience feature. One thing that SubZero does not offer, which I think they should, is an all metal / glass construction for the shelves on the door. Many of the other high end brands do this. So all in all, you do get some modest performance improvements over an average priced fridge, but certainly not enough to justify the cost. If aesthetics are not important to you than I would go with a less expensive option that suits your needs.

The factory default door swing is 115°. I don't remember the exact clearances needed for ours but they were not bad, you can find the installation instructions at Monogram.com

As many have noted, be aware of order delays. We placed our orders for SZ 36" fridge and 24" freezer columns August 2022. Latest delivery estimate (which no one trusts) for the freezer column is November--15 months. Surprisingly, thr fridge column arrived last month. Additionally we installed Thermador Freedom Columns in the other house about 13 years ago. Have been solid and don't regret the choices, but had issues: 1) icemaker. It's died three times. I've given up and we use the icemaker in the basement fridge. 2) the adjustable upper shelf stripped its gears out in the first year. Not worth fixing.
