Mine are 2004 vintage. Love the 6 burner gas range as every burner has high btu and good simmer. Flipping a grate for wok is cool. The grates on the newer models feel flimsier. The oven is okay, it has three racks, but they are too close together, wound up taking one out. Temperature control and distribution are fine. DW is good. Very quiet, cleans well, cycle takes a long time on the air dry phase, and there is no way to turn it off. Refrigerator over under- no issues except hard to keep freezer drawer organized. MW - no issues. Hood- no issues. They all look Beautiful and have required no repairs.

I have the 48" side by side GE Monogram built in. I've had it about a year now. I have really liked everything, except the icemaker. We decided not to get the through the door ice/water dispenser. The problem is there is not any simple way to remove the ice bin for dumping ice. And also, the bin is fairly deep and so it's not the easiest to reach over the lip and down into the bin to get ice as the opening is rather small. The other problem is that the ice spills over the sides of the bin in the back and so I end up with several ice cubes on various freezer shelves, depending on where they fall through to. I suspect that not many people opt for this ice maker set up (not through the door) and the company probably just sticks the same ice maker in for both models. I don't know, but these things make it highly annoying!

I'm no expert but the GE fridges are ASSEMBLED in the USA and, as long as 50% of the components are made in the USA OR the product undergoes substantial change into something else (motor to fridge anyone), GE can lay claim to the label - made in the USA. Many of the components, including the motors , are actually made in China. Now would you really want to buy an appliance you hope to have for at least 20 years or more, from a company that has been wanting to sell its consumer Appliance division for over a year? Google "Ge appliances division sell" if you need to and see how the company is doing all it can to improve the profitability of this division so it can increase the sell price. What's the best way to make more money - sell an item for a lot of money while keeping the cost of production as low as possible. Cheap cost of production = JUNK! My GE Monogram Fridge and freezer just went back today so maybe I am biased because I fell for the advertising pitch and bought into it but from experience I would never touch a new GE product again - they aren't built like the ones from a few years back. our new ones didn't even last a year. And at $5000 each that is money we were NOT going to lose. Fortunately our dealer bought them back for full credit and we are getting German made units instead with European providence on ALL the components.

I also made that terrible and costly mistake of buying a GE Monogram 48" side by side refrigerator. We had issues with the first one starting the day it was delivered. It was ultimately replaced after less than 6 months. The second refrigerator had a manufacturing defect that caused a very loud noise and the freezer to not cool properly after less than 6 months. It took a month to get it repaired. Less than a month later the control board stopped working and both the refrigerator and freezer stopped working entirely. This is a $10k refrigerator that is 7 months old. It has not been working for weeks, we are still waiting for a repair. GE sent the required parts by ground shipping from California to the east coast and delayed scheduling of the service appointment. We are looking into the lemon law and have also discovered several law firms investigating these issues for potential pursuit of a class action.
