That's exactly what I did (using Google specifically and ironically, Home Depot and Lowes, and efaucet.com, chicagofaucetshoppe.com, van dyke's restorer, Restoration Hardware (which has exactly what I'm looking for, at >$2k), and build.com and a million other sites that looked promising) and came up with very very few options, specifically the ones I listed above. Cross handles are fairly brand specific and are not universally replaceable. There are some "universal" ones, which we currently use, but as they are not faucet specific, they have poor purchase (at least on the shower set we have now) and slip eventually. We replace them ~ 1x/year. At ~$24/pair, not a deal breaker, but annoying.

If a ball valve has a problem it's usually at install. Either a defective ball valve or more likely the installer applied too much heat or took too long when soldering it in. The reason I recommend a three ball bypass along with the OEM bypass is that most dealers want to install just the OEM bypass and the redundancy of the additional three ball bypass, at it's modest cost during installation, is a good idea. With no Kinetico bypass what you have will serve you once the ball valves that leak are taken care of. Understand before you speak with the dealer that the water at the float valve is under system water pressure and all that is between correct operation and failure is the float. The tank drain elbow is provided so that if the float fails the overflow will be directed to a drain cause if it fails when no one is around it will be pumping water into the brine tank at house pressure. If there is no floor drain handy then it is common to drill a hole through an exterior wall and run a PE tube from the brine tank elbow through the wall to the outside. The elbow is a gravity drain and will not run water up. Many softeners are installed disregarding the brine tank drain and as long as the float never fails or leaks it's OK. I've seen quite a few where the float failed and there is substantial water damage. Do not let the dealer minimize the importance of the brine tank drain or say it can be ignored because you're betting a lot on that float mechanism... an awful lot. If something does happen and there is no line to drain there's a chance your homeowner's insurance won't cover the damage. With a washing machine I'd think that one of the Gap-It airgaps from airgap.com will do nicely. Pick the one that accommodates both the washer drain hose and the softener drain hose.

Just saw this and am wondering if y'all got the Jacklo faucets and if you have pics to share? Sorry if you already shared them but I can never find pics/figure out how to properly use the search functions here. I still love mine. The only pain is the part where if the water's running and you want to remove the hose from the neck in order to spray down the sides of the sink for example, you have to quickly turn off the faucet to take it off lest you get sprayed, then turn it back on, or else you have to be cautious and deliberate in the act of removing it while the water's flowing. Not a deal-breaker but that's my only complaint. It makes quite a statement and one quick swipe with the sponge and it polishes up beautifully. The fact that it's not chrome OR nickel is HUGE because it looks much warmer than chrome but cleans much better than nickel. ;) How are you liking yours? Oh and here's a pic I took last night when we were making bread, that has the faucet in the background when it's very, very dirty (haven't wiped it down in ages, I'm embarrassed to admit)! Ok I'm just realizing it's not the clearest pic but I think it makes clear how it generally still looks great - especially considering how little I care for it (blush).

Lovely! I like the classic white tile and porcelain and how you used furniture pieces in the bathroom. I love that the storage at the end of the tub has pull-outs that can be reached from the toilet. Your custom sink and backsplash and counter are unique and beautiful. Yours may be the first bathroom sink I have seen in which a small or medium dog could be washed! That is a good thing! I showed your pictures to my DH because I am thinking of classic tiled walls with a chair rail for when we redo our bath in a couple of years. He liked it! I was expecting him to say, "too old fashioned." He did not, he said it looked nice. From him, nice is a compliment. He even liked your rows of listello. I was just at the Tile Shop's site the other day looking at the Hampton tiles because someone was selling some on Craigslist. I am hoping to do as you did and get what I can cheaper there, and fill in the rest from the store. I can see that you worked very hard to secure all of your materials - and then cut the floor tiles to size and culled the Hampton tiles, too!
