Claudia Mattioli What I meant was, is this where an electrical outlet will be or a light fixture? What is this space intended for? Size - is this a small area ( a few inches/cm?) or much larger? To me it just looks like someone pulled on the wires causing some of the drywall/finish to come loose. If that were the case then it would not be anything to worry about.

yes. it is. the work was already finished, plastered and it came down by itself. by itself let me say one more time. no one touched it.

Quite frankly now I am beyond furious. I do not what to do. The situation is already very serious. Should I ask to tear down everything? and start over, or just treat all the cracks, and shit, and wait till the next time it appears.

Cause this is seriously unbelievable.

at present there are 20 cracks in all doors as in my previous post. well precisely 18. as the internal part of the bathroom does not have its internal wall completed. BUT the structure itself, I learned was not correct.

There is always the bottom line. Someone is responsible. Either permits were not pulled or the building inspector fell flat.

You are not responsible. ~ Even though we are not, I feel so dumb to have trusted this guy. The world is a scary place. He has been working in the NL for 17 years so I thought its trustable enough. And it ain't cheap.

Have you contacted your insurance company? They, too, could be your ally.

~We do not have any insurance company. Its something to think about for the future.

as written there is a lawsuit. we havent paid him anything yet. we were trying to find a mediation. this guy is a pretty nasty person who stole valuable items, and rude attitude.

Its a very fresh job. one month old. next week there will be new people coming in to finish the renovation . new company some of them already noted his failures.

I live in the Netherlands and as far as I know this is not the proper way to install electricity wires ( picture attached of my house when it was built shows how it should be done with these electricity boxes)

You should contact or become member of " Vereniging Eigen Huis" ( Union of Home Owners) and get yourself a qualified installer

yes, I am already a member of Vereniging Eigen Huis but in such a nasty situation, they are of very little help. (see my previous post, if you have time) therefore there is lawyer taking care of this.

Honestly I do not know what to do. I thought it was just a matter of few cracks, well not few but 18, but as days are passing by....new people/stucadoors/companies come to check, there is something being pointed out.

to be extra precise: I do not think it matters, its not a new house. Its an apartment being renovated. The previous plattegrond was totally demolished with new drywalls according to architects plan. Year of construction of the building: 2011

to be extra precise: in some rooms there are also those blue boxes. Apartament is 74 mq.

@Claudia, yes, it should be used in every room for safety reasons and no, no hanging wires.

I remember your previous post about the cracks and yes, we had them too. My house was built in 2000 and we still have that walls are working ( translated literally) meaning walls move ( so slightly you don't notice )due to the Dutch soil. For that reason walls in new buit houses are covered up with some special wallpaper because sooner or later walls will show cracks.

I think I understand what you mean by working walls. I was told that its normal after a year, not immediately after walls construction. This is what the stucadoorbedrijf said. Two weeks and 18 cracks in specific points its not normal. Their literal comment.

Without an electrical box to protect the surrounding area, it just looks like someone pulled on the wires and it loosened part of the wall.

because I was just thinking to myself that EVEN if there was an electrical box, would it have collapsed so miserably?

if so, I contact tomorrow the company and let them see the problem as soon as possible to give an estimation of the repairment.

and even if it looks as if someone pulled it out, no, it actually collapsed by itself in a matter of two days.

Once again, from your pic it looks like the area is only a couple of inches long. If this is where lighting or an electrical outlet will be installed in the future, then a box will need to be added. In this case, this piece of the wall will need to be cut out anyway to add the box.

The point being that without some type of electrical box (to install something), there is no reason for this wiring to be hanging out of the wall in the first place. That is the real issue.

We are gathering evidence, further discussion will be left for the company coming next and at the lawyer's office.

I feel it is going to be problematic.

The "good" in the tragedy (for me personally it is) is that its coming out (literally even) now when the case is still open.

Now I wonder how did he install the water/plumbing in the kitchen, which has been covered but that's a different matter.

There will be people on site this week to check whats going on. Also, the lawyer has taken action to inform the other part of his mistakes, cause we found new ones just yesterday. I feel like its going to be nasty. Anyways, we haven't done anything wrong.

May I kindly ask someone about the following:

We are going to change a little the previous project and install a custom-made double sliding door. I am trying to inform myself as for the proper way to build the wall, secure it in order to prevent cracks. Such as in other doors.

From my previous post, I 've learned a great deal. Still, I am going to consult with the door-seller and an architect regarding this matter.

As you can see in Figure 3, the edges of the sheets of drywall wrap around window and door openings rather than the edges butting up against the edges of the window and door openings.

the door is on page 16, but it does not reach the ceiling. Invisible retractable track.

update: as a matter of fact the height of the walls are not high :(, 2,52 (to be reconfirmed today..) so I am asking myself if the sliding door should reach the ceiling as in the catalogue. I think it would be beneficial for two points: no cracks (?) or less chances and a more 'elegant' final outlook.

I will discuss it with the seller. Today.
