I think the mirror is John Richard, very expensive. You can of course get the same look much cheaper if you look around but always buy the best you can afford. I do think the chair is too small in scale. I would forgo the chair at this point because you already have a good amount of seating and concentrate on the rest of the room. I also think the drapes should up over the windows, add fabric to the bottoms if you can't replace them. I also would not worry so much about making the room lighter/brighter at this point. Worry about making it pretty and making it work for your lifestyle. This is a very special room in that whatever you do to the walls will have major, major impact to the room. That includes the windows. This is way I think wallpaper would make such a great investment and maybe save you money in the long run. Otherwise I think you are going to have to have lots of art to keep it from being dull. There are some wonderful people here to help you every step of the way. I know your room can look fabulous with careful investments. Do you have anything else to go in the room? What are your favorite colors? Look at websites like Schumacher for inspritation. Hi all! Thanks for all of your suggestions. The laundry chute is non functional as the previous owners inadvertently blocked part of the opening in the basement when they had it finished. I'm thinking about skipping the shelves and putting a towel bar and then some artwork hanging on the wall above it. @boxerpal The color is SW Grape Mist. I really like how it turned out!

@Judy Graham It is vaulted and I think would look cool with an accent wall (doing this for myself, not resale, but still want it to look nice). The rest of the house will be pretty neutral so I really want to do a fun pop in here and I just love the color and other inspiration photos I have found. Carpet will be replaced soon with a lighter neutral. Technically not finalizing paints til it's in but trying to be efficient. I am really not questioning the teal though. I know it is not everyone's cup of tea but I just bought this so have many years to go in this house and one wall of dramatic paint can be repainted if future owners don't like it.
