Hosta T 2017
Comments (42)Steve - interesting! I looked up Golden Meadows and Temptation in the Hosta Library Comparison feature... they do look a lot alike, but it seems like GM has more ruffly-edged leaves. Could be just the individual plants that are there.... ? Anyway, both are beautiful, and your specimen of Temptation is really beautiful. Very tempting, I'd say!...See MoreHosta Y 2017
Comments (25)"Hooray," I said, "I've got a Y hosta!" Well, not exactly. I don't know how I managed it, but I only took photos of it in bud. No plant picture! I swear I will do better next season! I appreciated seeing the Yankee Blues that were posted. Yankee Blue...See MoreHosta Mini 2017
Comments (38)I love the minis. I owe my entire obsession to dhaven. And now it's on! I have a few and am trying to mix them in with larger hostas as well. Last year, I wanted soe of my minis to stand out from their friends, so I created a raised area for them. I'm looking forward to them filling in this season. Two of my favorites are Baby Bunting and Cherish. But I love them all and have quite a few still on my wish list. I got this BME and friend in one pot at a garden center last Summer. I divided the blue from the other one and planted them separately. I have the Little Hosta Book. It's really wonderful. So is Carolyn's Shade Garden website....See MoreHosta Upright or Vase shaped 2017
Comments (20)Mississippi Delta — I haven’t had a lot of luck with Olga’s hybrids, but this one is doing OK. Niagara Falls in the evening. This is the other one of Olga’s that’s doing ok. Mississippi Delta and Niagara Falls are both backyard hostas, the rest of my garden is on the sandy hill in front of the house. The backyard is further down the hill and close to the creek, really different ecosystems. Proud Sentry Purple Lady Fingers — one day this will be a stunning display by the birdbath. So much of my garden is more impressive in my mind’s eye than in reality. I think I’ll go pull the periwinkle out of this bed today. SILVER STAR™️ Summer Squall is pretty upright, Atlantis behind it, Blue Hawaii way back by the pine tree and Deep Blue Sea in front. The King Tidewater — it’s hard to get a good pic of this (slow-growing) hosta. Luna Moth so upstages it....See MoreDelawareDonna Zone 7A
