Ideas for kitchen light with island illuminated by WAC Monorail
Comments (0)Hello Everyone, We have just installed a bronze finishd WAC monorail system with 3 pendants above our island. Looks really nice but now I think we need to change our light over the neighboring Kitchen table (too many glass globes suspended in the air. Here is the link to the WAC kit we have: http://www.waclighting.com/data/PROD_PHOTO/lm-k592-ab_bz_m.jpg And here is a similar shape to what we have created: http://www.techlighting.com/images/system/syslrgimages/MonoRail_main.jpg Would really like your ideas on what would be a simple yet complimentary piece to our island. thanks Eric...See MoreNeed Help With Kitchen Island Lighting - 14' Ceilings, 13.5'X5' Island
Comments (10)Thank you for the responses. I guess a little more context would have been helpful! Let me see if I can fill in some of the gaps. Here is a layout of the dining and kitchen areas. It's not exact since this was the architect layout initially and we have made some changes on the fly during the construction - it's very close. The island is big and was how we wanted it. We have 5 kids. This tends to be our gathering place and with everyone wanting a hand in cooking, it just fit - and we have no regrets. Same for the ceiling height. That was also our choice and what we wanted to do - as the construction is going along...we absolutely love it! Definitely no lack of choices...it's just about finding something that really speaks to us. Less worried about price point than finding something that we love - although our budget is not unlimited. We selected this for above the dining table: Hubbardton Forge Etch We are considering this for the island Modern Forms Cosmic The lighting store suggested this above the island. We like this...but are having second thoughts. Hubbardton Forge Sling Front Entry Door Sconces: Hubbardton Forge Shadow Box Tall We don't have a lot of other fixtures in the house. A lot of recessed lights, accent lights, and ceiling fans. If you have any suggestions on foyer lighting, I would appreciate it as well. We don't want the traditional look of a large chandelier and similar to the island...looked at so many things that just didn't get us to where we wanted to go...and now just considering recessed lights. I hope this helped clarify things a little. Thanks again for all of your comments! Bobby...See Moreideas for over table lighting to coordinate with island lights?
Comments (14)I wouldl not repeat the shape, you could touch on the pattern. Elk lighting has a beautiful one but its 900$, I found a couple here that could work. https://www.ferguson.com/product/progress-lighting-ashbury-21-12-in-60w-3-light-linear-chandelier-in-silver-ridge-pp4349134/_/R-4468628 https://www.overstock.com/Lighting-Ceiling-Fans/Capital-Lighting-Donny-Osmond-Mercer-Collection-6-light-Winter-Gold-Chandelier/15997149/product.html https://www.homedepot.com/p/Minka-Lavery-West-Liberty-5-Light-Olympus-Gold-Chandelier-4404-581/206407333 https://www.lightology.com/index.php?module=prod_detail&prod_id=659189&option_id=659197&utm_content=32096/4&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgLfxnfP06AIVcz2tBh3yDgrqEAQYBSABEgLv1_D_BwE...See MoreHelp with ideas for kitchen and foyer tile update.
Comments (0)We are replacing our tile floors and need suggestions that will work with existing adjacent wood floors. Looking at light cream and beige tiles in a larger size than original 12 by 12. Also considered a wood look ceramic tile and also replace wood in family room off the kitchen ( but we want to keep the wood in the front rooms off the entry/foyer area. We have pets so I like the durability of tile in kitchen area. Any suggestions (pros and cons) appreciated. I don’t want to make a costly design mistake....See Morecpartist
