Tired of beige/brown

We are looking at homes to buy and we have a strict budget. I don't know what it is but Many of the homes in our area that we can afford have this beige/brown tile in the kitchen and in the showers. I just don't like this color very much and we can't afford to remodel our bathroom and kitchen. This is a perfect example. I like EVERYTHING else about this house, price, location hardwoods, windows. What color scheme can I use to minimize this (icky in my opinion) color.

It's a so called Tuscan trend(which I'm also not a fan of-after having spent years in Mediterranean, this spells a bit fake to me; but many used to love it/love it still)

Anyway, don't do anything contrasting..colors that belong to same range..warm, somewhat muted..from creams to light browns..that's actually a very big range of colors..linen, bone, tans, taupes, some golden yellows..choose these for paint, and you can be freer when decorating.

I had the same pallette in my previous space(not everywhere; and the kitchen wasn't open but was kinda in the back of the house so didn't bother me that much)-and it didn't prevent me from using many many other colors I love. It's true that I prefer warmer, murkier colors..so was easier..but I still was able to work in so many colors, I added as I lived there, becoming more confident with time, so it bossed me around, this scheme, to a degree-but not enough to make me unhappy.

Plants and art and fabrics you love-they'll make your house your beloved home more than this or that tile.

I know you are on a budget, but do you plan to do a big remodel in the future? If so I would live with it & save for a big remodel. I would leave the shower for now & focus on the kitchen. The shower will have to be completely redone to change anything, besides the trim kit, but it's fine. The kitchen would look a lot different with different floors & a different backsplash.

I think it will be easiest to find a pale sage since it is almost a neutral but it needs to be lighter than the stone. A grey blue might blend into the stone too much but that nearly navy with bright white trim had a nice contrast with the stone. Possible a golden tan or buttercream would work if the stone has some yellow undertones.

The second bathroom with white vanity is already leaning in farmhouse direction. The first bathroom, maybe bring in another light fixture over vanity (I can’t really tell what is there now, too much glare in photo). Plus it looks like mirror or mirrors will be installed, so you can bring some more of your style in there. If you wanted lighter walls in that bathroom, maybe something like Benjamin Moore”s Ballet White or Swiss Coffee. You can try some samples. I like BM’s Natura line. You could also consider painting walls in that bathroom a light pastel blue. Other than that, both are very nice bathrooms as they are. Maybe accept them for that.

Picture shown is before painting. I don't have a pic of the master bedroom right now but it's black and dark brown bed with tray ceiling. I was considering Passive for the room but I'm not sure it will contrast enough with Snowbound.

Paul! Thank you!! Here is something interesting. The pavers in our 3D design attached above are actually Eva Champlain Grey! I have been stressing so much over the colors bc it's so hard to visualize everything on a larger scale. I am so grateful you posted and so happy to hear you are happy with them as well. I was afraid the Eva might be too small for our area and was not sure what color the warmer color would ultimately pull. We have 1000sqf but it is divided into 3 smaller adjacent "zones/levels" We would do a border. Do you mind me asking how big your area is or if you have any photos? And I'm assuming the warmer color pulls beige as you said? Ty so much for your input!
