pope john paul ii hybrid tea rose where to buy
Comments (4)I don't know much about RU, but I believe Pat Henry is either the owner or one of the owners. All their roses are own-root. I feel pretty lucky to find JPII. I bought JPII because someone wanted a good white rose to grow for her daughter's wedding next year and asked for advice. This one and a florist rose, Crystaline, got the best reviews. JPII is supposed to be more fragrant. I would love to grow one grafted and one own root to compare. Add both to your orders for next year! Here is a link that might be useful: Crystaline...See MorePope John Paul II
Comments (34)I love this rose! I got it last year and decided to plant it in a pot afraid of the cold hardiness. It performed beautiful all season long. Since you grow it in the grown in zone 4, I might planted outside next year....See MoreIceberg vs. Pope John Paul II
Comments (26)I've just started posting after lurking for many years. I've harrased my family and friends with flower pics for long enough, I thought I would go global. ;) Thank you so much for your sweet comments! Seil & jjpeace, I grew up in Michigan in zone 5 (at the time). I know exactly how hard growing roses there is! I remember my mom thought our roses were coming down with a dread disease that turned all our roses, one by one, year after year, into single dark red roses. I only discovered who the good Dr.Huey was after extensive research at the library (pre-Internet days). Where I am now, you don't have to be a great gardener to grow reasonable healthy roses. I will say though, there is nothing as beautiful as Michigan in the summer, all those lush green rolling hills, long days and colorful sunsets. :) Jjpeace, I'll post a pic of iceberg in spring if I can find one....See MorePope John Paul II Muation?
Comments (5)For me PJP always has nice red new growth, especially in Spring. The basal shoots come up and can carry more than 10 flowers to one stem. In Autumn they tend to be more one flower per stem. Regardless this rose is constantly covered in dozens of flowers all the time. :)...See MoreMoses, Pittsburgh, W. PA., zone 5/6, USA
