Love the photos! We've been enjoying the sweet lettuce this cold weather has brought, too. But my potatoes froze . . . again. I think they might give up this time. Maybe your cukes are waiting for it to stop frosting at night?

My David Kirchhoff, even Poly'd up like that many times too when I first got it...it seems to take him a couple of years to settle in and then he gets beautiful.......Siloam David Kirchhoff is a beauty too...you can't go wrong with either of them..:) Hope you get the one you want too... HANG ON!! First of all, 1/4" backerboard is way too flimsy without something behind it for wall tile. It's usually used over plywood for flooring underlayment. Secondly, even if it WERE okay for wall work, the sheetrock you're butting up to is 1/2". You want whatever you're tiling over to be flush to that sheetrock. Lastly, you don't need cement board for a backsplash. That's money wasted. Regular sheetrock will work fine, as you're finding out right now. No need to remove cabinets, countertop, or anything else. Cut it back as far as you need to, hopefully ending on studs at both ends. If you don't, it's not really a big deal, though. Simply screw a piece of wood into the back of the end of the good sheetrock, so that when you put the new piece in, you have something to screw the end of it into, so that it's supported, and the patch and existing sheetrock stay nice and flush. Once you do that, go over the seam with fiberglass mesh tape, and you're ready to tile.

Well, I turned off the power and checked the wires I could see and such. I found a couple ground screws that were not that tight and tightened them up. The spa light seems to turn on now, but it likes 75% best and never 100%. Both pool lights I guess were worse than I thought and don't seem to want to turn on at all. Guess both relays could have died at the same time (??) Maybe I will have the pool co come out and if the relays are bad, just have them put in the old, standard relays for now. I would prefer to upgrade to LED sometime anyways. Chris
