Pocket Windows replacing New Construction Windows

I'm replacing a few of my windows around the house and thought I would try one just to see how it went before attempting the others. I already screwed up I think. My house is only 15 years old so of course I'll be replacing a new construction window. My dilemma, however, is that my dumb arse ordered a replacement or "pocket" window. So now my replacement window fits in the pocket and what not (a little too small but I can shim or whatever) but I can't remove any of the old frame as it appears it's all one piece. So, am I going to have to actually use a reciprocating saw to cut through the nail fin on the current new construction window to get it off? If that's the case, I measured completely wrong.
