Blanco Diamond vs Performa Cascade Super Single

I am trying to decide between the Blanco Diamond Super Single with the offset drain and the Blanco Performa with the fruit/veggie ledge.

I like the idea of the Performa with the fruit/veggie ledge, but wonder 1) how much I would actually use the little ledge? 2) would food and crud get stuck up on the little ledge and be annoying 3) will I regret not having just one big bowl and 4) does the benefit of the offset drain option in the Diamond outweigh the fruit/veggie ledge?

Did you get one of these? What are your thoughts? Those are two of our choices as well.

I did, I got the performa with the ledge and basket, and honestly I wish I had gotten the other. We use the ledge a little, the basket less. And stuff does get stuck up on the ledge. Not a big deal, you just wipe it down with the rag, but I think I would have preferred the plain flat single bowl sink.

For us one reason we aren’t using it as I envisioned though is because we have a roll up drainer that we are using (never used one before) and we almost always have something drying on it, either skillets, good knives recyclables. We have the drainer over that side of the sink, so the ledge is under it and gets little use. If I prepped at my sink and put things directly into the basket it would get used more, but that isn’t how I typically prep.

Lindalp - we have ours on order - should be installed very soon. Cabinets arrive next week. I joke is it is like training wheels for those of us who grew up with 2 sinks and aren't quite ready to take the plunge - plus I don't have room for a prep sink, so the elevated area can be used as needed and stay a bit cleaner. Jamrock also installed one but is super busy moving back into her house after a year!! Jamrock put her faucet in the middle. MaryBeth - can you post a picture showing your faucet placement - I am leaning towards putting faucet at the divider (the way you did) vs in the center. Also what is the center to center reach of your faucet? I am putting in a Waterstone and I think the reach is around 8 inches

Baquinn, I have a different Blanco sink, but it was large too. I have the equal double bowl undermount Performa (33 by 20 and 10 inches deep). Fortunately, my GC caught the specs and so we were able to ammend the plans prior to fabrication of the cabinet and counter. We did pull the sink base cabinet forward. Initially this was supposed to be a straight counter edge, but you can see the curve we put in to accommodate the sink. I am happy we did. I really like my big sinks. The larger sinks are another favorite thing about my renovation. I hand wash a lot of items, so this sink has made the job so much easier. On another note, everybody's renovations have their fair share of setbacks and frustrations. It's never smooth sailing. It's definitely a process and it will be complete one day and you will really enjoy it! If a large sink is a priority for you, don't settle on a smaller one just for time. There will be more than one hiccup and you want to have the kitchen you really want because you are the one who will be living with whatever decisions you come to. Hang in there!

We have the BlancoDiamond super single in anthracite (sp?). Yes, it was installed as an undermount - in fact, I had him rotate the sink 180 degrees as I needed it to drain to the left. My granite guy drilled the holes & did the installation with no problems. 6 1/2 months later, I still love it! Good luck!

Thanks, daki, that's helpful. Your pictures outline the corner a little more clearly than the pics on their website. It is not quite as squared off as I feared so maybe I'll go with it...it seems easier to lay down a cookie sheet or a broiler pan and scrub in this than in the Cascade. thanks again.

Ditto to what Kazmom said. We had the Cascade in our last home and this time going with super single. We used it but it did tend to catch stuff and stay a little more dirty.
