beeps, if taupe is purple-y, it's no longer taupe. If you're looking for a grayed purple, be very careful. LOTS of them have way too much blue in them and end up looking Crayola-y. I'm looking at a BM color 'Kasbah' for my den walls, and 'Weimerimer' (I don't know how to spell that) for the ceiling. That is an almost taupe that picks up the purple and gray in the 'Kasbah'. I've been searching for YEARS for the right purple. It absolutely, truly, really depends upon your lighting. Vowels would be nice; we're not texting here. I didn't see gray in that granite, but rather a heck of a lot of blue. I like the tiles you've posted above and think you're going to have a lovely kitchen! Love the darkness of your cabinets. How in the heck, with those rich tones, could you ever have too much gray! Keep in mind that gray is very sophisticated and cool. The wood warms it all up and that granite will add sparkle!

Everything shows up on black. We put a matte asphalt gray tile floor in our main bathroom...it's a pretty bright space because it has a solatube skylight. As much as I like the floor color, it's so dark everything shows up. Water spots. I never thought I'd be someone who would complain about water spots, but they make the floor look sooooo dirty. At least my boys are learning to wipe up all their little drips ;-) I think white cabs are classic, I'm not sure about black -- it probably is as well. I'm not sure if that's a consideration for you, but it is something I take into consideration. Maybe you could compromise, white cabs and a dark gray or black (or dark wood) island. I think that's a very nice look, and those colors would suit your lovely granite.

IMo you need to either match a gray from the floors or go whaite grays are difficult to work with and can look very wrong if you dchoose the wrong one So take atile to the store find 3 you think will work in sample cans get some poster boards apint each one with 2 coats of the samples and see them all over the rooms you want o paint in all times of the day and IMO make sure all your lighting is LEDs in 4000k to get true color, That is the only way to work with shades of gray. I will tell you I love gray but I would never suggest a gray color on line.

Thank you for the rug ideas. I tied the curtains up. They are 108 in long, but still too short for my liking. However I'm not 100% sold on the color white for my curtains. Maybe I just need a different material.
