New pool..Need photos of river rok blue opal & harbor gray please
Comments (2)Thank you cnr1089! That was a helpful picture. Does anyone have pictures of blue opal, or know where I can go to get them? I've already called SGM and they sent me what they had but the picture quality was poor. Thanks!...See MoreHelp choosing blue-gray paint for home office
Comments (5)Warning: (learning from just painting Grey in my living room that has loads of windows and light) Most Grey colors turn out much darker looking once you paint them on all the walls. We spent $2,000 to change the grey in our livingroom to a lighter grey because the first one turned out too dark and that was a grey that was much lighter than any you have choosen. I had even gotten a sample and painted one wall to test the color but when the walls all reflect off each other it gets way darker! I would test Beacon Grey or Breath of Fresh Air. We ended up using SW 7071 Grey Screen You can see in this photo how much darker it can get depending on the shadows and lighting. Here it is in the day light: During the day it is almost baby blue but at night it is VERY grey....See MoreWhat color paint to make grey/blue carpet look more blue?
Comments (12)Thanks everyone! The major piece of furniture is a medium/french blue sectional that I love, and it does bring out the blue in the rug, and a dark grey media cabinet. My dilemma was do I go with a greyish/blue paint, which was my first impulse, and suggested by many of you, or a warm white with more "orange" undertones since the orange is opposite blue on the color wheel and would therefore potentially enhance the blue in the rug. But I definitely don't want the walls to look orange. Can't do photos yet as it is early in the construction phase- just framed out. Thanks for the lighting concern, I will have at least one lamp down there, but we are investing in high end recessed so it should be pleasant, and not like a garage or workroom. I also understand that other design elements will make a big difference, but we are talking about 1100 sq ft of carpeting so it will be a dominant part of the design. Just looking at swatches (carpet swatch next to paint swatch) I like BM Beacon grey... but am concerned it will read baby blue once up on the walls......See MoreAgreeable grey walls in new home
Comments (3)Thanks Jen for your comments! Unfortunatley this particular builder didnt give us much time to even think about our decisions or even a single change a day later so that being said... It will all work out, Im sure. I love the Agreeable grey and will just bring in accents of navy blues and accents of dark red and warm shades of wood. We're doing our own backsplash so theres still that option to help things pop a bit. Once we're in I will post some photos. Thanks again....See Morejean1
