Paint cannot be suggested on a site. But, you night try full strenth Revere petwer for the bookshelves nex to the FP.

50% Revere Pewter looks nothing like Revere Pewter. It's actually similar to BenM's Shoreline 1471. Like most near neutrals, cutting Revere Pewter's formula doesn't result in a pretty color. 50% Revere Pewter is an odd, unbalanced gray and might not be so bad on its own but it certainly does not harmonize well with Revere Pewter.

That's something you can't know unless you spend the time and money to have a sample of 50% RP made and then evaluate and compare.

Thanks all. I’ll check out that one lighter color you mentioned, the shoreline. I’m worried that the full strength revere will be too dark for my space. I had tried Balboa Mist for the walls, but really didn’t like the undertone color, too pinky peachy somehow. So I just thought I’d cut the pewter. Sounds like that wasn’t a good idea! We are right next to the ocean, and I have a lot of white going on in the kitchen, actually all white pretty well, so I need some color for sure. I felt blue would be too cold, so was going with the revere pewter to bring in some warmth. Any other suggestions, I’d take them! Thank you!!

IMO it is impossible to make suggestions about paint colors on line, but if the Revere Pweter is too dark but it goes with the stones I guess it should be left full strength or find another color that works that is lighter. As anside I would hesitate putting book shelves beside a heavy stone fireplace until the fireplace is in, I think some substantial builtins will make better sense with no shelves above them something like this for balance
