Need ideas on design lay out (brick color, paint, furniture,2 placeTV)
Comments (4)I can't imagine how hectic and difficult it must be trying to move under the current circumstances. You have plenty of space to seat probably up to 8 people. What furniture are you bringing into the space? The built-ins seem to be in a bit of an odd spot. The most logical place for the t.v. seems to be to the left of the fireplace. You could wall mount it with a console underneath. Then add two chairs, facing the wall the built-ins are on, and a sofa facing the fireplace and t.v. You'll want an area rug for comfort and to ground the seating area. You could add another chair to the right of the fireplace with a floor lamp to make a cozy reading spot by the built-ins. Add books and decor but don't forget to leave some empty space on the shelves. Add a great piece of art over the mantle. I would add a long rod with curtains across the wall with the windows and double door for privacy at night, along with some woven wood shades for the windows. That back corner could be a good place for a game table with a couple of chairs. Is there room for an entry table before you pass through the columns?...See MoreLooking for ideas for our wood trim and design for living/dining room.
Comments (8)The wood trim is beautiful and gives character and texture to your house. I'm with everyone else suggesting that you use paint and tweaks on your lighting, art work, and furnishings to lighten the spaces. Here's an article on Houzz about paints that go with wood trim--not all of them are white. Many warm colors complement wood trim--oranges, turquoise and other blues,, cream https://www.pinterest.com/pin/346214290074417244/ For reference, I have a wood trim Ideabook with some examples from Houzz:...See MoreRANCH HOMENew Landscaping design NOW need ideas for paint / exterior
Comments (6)I like the Kendall charcoal, on the house. However, it definitely does not go with your brown colored roof. I also like the garage door, painted the same color as the house, regardless of what color you use. I see you have some stone walls there. Pick a color from that stone for the house, that also goes with the color of your roof. What you actually have right now, looks very nice....See Morehelp! paint and design ideas den/living room “wet bar
Comments (12)This looks to me like a kitchen unit more than wet bar. You might consider hiring an interior designer to help with a comprehensive plan to create a more intimate space. You can create a dramatic change if you were to change out existing light fixtures and replace with one in the center--maybe hang a pendent light and give care to the type of bulb you use. Lighting fixture and shade and intensity of light create different moods. Replace double, kitchen sink and countertop with a smaller, single sink and more stylish counter top. There are nice pics from other comments here of shelves with under shelve lighting that look nice and create a very nice mood. But you could remove the shelf and add a framed mirror or piece of art work. The back wall can be toned down with different paint color. The wall is small enough that you could use a nice wall paper. This space could become the focal point of the room. I encourage you to hire an interior designer and take a comprehansive approach. Good luck...See Morel pinkmountain
