Has anyone seen the new Fisher & Paykel fridges in person?
Comments (15)Artemis, you helped me so much around this time last year, when I was considering the F&P fridges, too! Thank you. We, too, put off buying the fridge until we'd saved up more money. Now I am ready to order the french door RF201ADUX model, but lo and behold, there's a new model on the market. The RF195ADUX1 looks almost exactly the same but is $200 more expensive, and it's not clear what I'd be getting for the extra money. The newer model actually has .8 cu.ft less storage space in the fridge section (14.6 versus 13.8) so it seems like I'd be getting less. I have to decide by tomorrow because the only place I can buy it from -- the only store in this area that will replace the fridge if it's damaged during delivery -- has just one older model left in stock and F&P won't accept orders for it anymore. Should I buy the new one or the old one? Does anyone know what is better about the new one?...See MoreFisher & Paykel fridge - should I buy it?
Comments (44)We have had an absolute NIGHTMARE experience with a F&P flat front, counter depth, stainless fridge. If it wasn’t so infuriating, it would be funny, especially if it wasn’t happening to you. it started making very strange noises a week before the 2 year warrantee expired. Sounded just like a car revving it’s engine. This was over 2 years ago now and it still isn’t fixed. This company does not stand behind their product, period. Their technician has made us feel like we were insane for thinking this wasn’t a normal sound. Lying to our faces about the most basic of issues and previous visits. Cancelled appointments, lost paperwork, wrong parts ordered, etc etc etc. it was been a complete farce of after sale customer service and support. We have every e-mail and paper document, countless video and audio files of this fridge making these crazy sounds and yet...... here we are.....just today..... the 3rd cancelled appointment this month alone by the local F&P service rep...... yep, you guessed it...... after waiting at home since 7am this morning for the scheduled service. Do NOT buy this brand. It’s simply not worth the incredible hassel you will face if anything breaks.... with, or without a warrantee....See MoreFisher & Paykel fridge - any concerns?
Comments (13)I' all add to my earlier post. My prior refrigerator was a 20cft sxs. I think the F&P holds as much. I am a one household person. But I do cook alot and have a alot of refrigerator needs: the usual dairy, eggs, cold cuts and cheese as well as produce, yogurt, bread etc. The capacity for its stated size (17.6 cft) is large. The shelves are wide although shallow. A 12 pack of soda must be placed horizontally to fit; it will not fit in lengthwise. the F&P lacks some features we Americans deem necessary such as pullout shelsves. You wouldn't really need them due to the depth. There seems to sufficient storage on the door for ketchup, mustard, large bottles, pickles and the like. The door has an egg bin and two covered shelves. I use these for cheese, butter and deli stuff. The fridge does not have a separate deli drawer. It does have a fruit bin and a veggie bin which have sliders to adjust the moisture control. IMHO, the refrigerator portion holds more than it would appear to! THe freezer does not have a light. It is conveniently divided into 3 sections. So far this storage has been fine for me. WHether or not it would fit your family needs depends on how often you shop and what you have to refrigerate. I find it more than adequate. I love it's design and its counterdepth. I originally wanted a FD but don't have room for a counter depth FD. I am quite pleased with the F&P. I like the water dispenser. This control lets you select the amount of water and the temp of the fridge and the freezer. PJS...See Morenarrow counter depth fridge, any alternative to fisher/paykel?
Comments (15)I have a different model Summit, and it's made in Denmark. It's 24" by 24" and about 80" tall. It's the model CP 171ss (stainless).. great refrigerator, made by Vestfrost. The freezer is at the bottom but it is not frost free. Because it has 2 compressors, I only have to defrost it maybe once a year. I noticed Summit has a couple new tall counter-depth refrigerators that are frost free. Including a 27" width.. If you scroll further down the page link you'll find those as well. Both bottom freezers- Model FFBF245SS and Model FFBF285SS I think these two are also made in Denmark by Vestfrost, but I'm not sure.. Summit told me a while back they were going to import a few newer models... Here is a link that might be useful: Summit refrigerators (imported?)...See MoreNicole
