Any good deals?

I sure got a good deal today. I have needed a new winter coat and looked a few weeks ago at JCPenney, I went back today and found one I liked and fit well. It was originally $200 and on sale for $80. I decided to look on-line and found the coat in a better color and on sale for $34.99, I put in a promo code and ended up getting it for $26.24. I'm picking it up at the store so I'm not paying shipping either. Have you gotten a good deal?

A fabulous set of distressed leather furniture, sofa, loveseat and recliner. Like new they paid $6000 for it and she changed her mind about what she wanted. I am so glad she did because I got it for a steal at $500! They were asking more but after they met us and learned our story they dropped the price. Super nice couple. He went out in his friends boat during Harvey rescuing people. He is a coach. I won a little lottery!

Then At Home stores put my Fleur-de-lis dining room chairs on sale so we hit each store today. We scored 3 of them. 2 for the dining room and one for my bedroom vanity.

One of my neighbors that helped out a lot of people during the cleaning up told me she has some furniture she is giving me. I am getting a double pedestal table with 6 matching chairs in solid cherry. It will go in the kitchen eat in area. Not sure what else she has for me. She has very nice stuff. This really helps since bank of America screwed us out of the money for our contents.

Did you buy it online from Penny’s? Great deal! Walmart has the large size Yankee Candle Autumn Wreath jar candles unmarked for $1.58. I bought the 3 they had.

What?! Large Yankee candles for $1.58? Wow.

ETA: I just visited the Walmart site. The candles are $15.87, is that what you meant to say? either that or you really got a deal before the price went back up.

I was at Walmart today getting an all-metal impact sprinkler and a bulb planter that has an adjustable diameter--nifty. Of course, I couldn't resist looking at the new bags of grass seed. Most of the bags were printed with an appropriate 2012 or 2013 "Sell By" date or "Use By" date, but I saw some bags from Scotts that had a sticker placed over their original "Sell By" dates! When the sticker was peeled off, you could see that printed on the bag itself was a 2011 "Sell By" date, but the sticker covering the bag had a 2012 Sell By date! I don't know if these were last year's seeds or, hopefully, just this year's seeds in last year's bags? Kinda shocked me. The stickers were so plainly visible. Just needed to lift them up in order to see the bag's original hidden Sell By date. My faith in corporate ethics has been forever shattered--LOL. In fairness, I should say that most of the Scotts bags had appropriate 2012 and 2013 Sell-By dates. Only a few bags had the conspicuous stickers covering a date from last year. And again, maybe, those were this year's seeds in last year's bags. Sure hope so.

I'd probably look around Westport, MA, co-incidentally near Sylvan Nursery - what a great excuse to go there. There are lots of farms in the area, and it's not too far from you. My tomato crop is also pretty poor this year, I think the lack of rain (after the early deluges) was a factor. Maybe we'll be swamped later in the season.

I'm back. Got to Target and saw a mob around a shelf display on the main isle ( I was thinking the jackets would be on a sales rack on the back wall)and jackets were being thrown into carts left and right. lol I picked up the first large that I could find and immediately noticed how small they ran. I then gathered up mostly the black in XL and L. Got two XL in green. Those were the only two colors in L and XL. I got a reddish/pink jacket in M for my daughter that wears a medium. My other daughter would need a large. I got 10 jackets all together. Once home, I tried on the XL and could barely squeeze in. My older daughter is rather blessed up top, so I am afraid that even the XL will not zip up to the top and that the M will be too small for younger daughter. Oh well, at least the L and XL will fit someone in need. Thanks again!

Yes, I sat on a bench inside of JCPenney's and bought the coat online. That is a great price on Yankee candles!

My own bargain: Today I saved a dollar on a six-pack of this:

It's "an insanely delicious take on Mexican hot chocolate brewed with cocoa, coffee, pasilla peppers, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg." I don't normally care for beers with so much flavoring, they are usually way too sweet -- but this one is just right. Now I'm sad ... the Stone website has a distribution map ... and Xocoveza is available in every state except West Virginia! Oh, no! that's right next door to me -- did they drink all theirs, are they going to come for mine? lol!

Jillian Michaels work out DVD's $1 each, Dollar Tree had them. Cuddl Duds fleece sheets from Kohls, queen/$23, Cuddl Duds sherpa premium throw $25. Hamilton Beach Flexcook crock pot for $30. 30x60 lighted magnifying glass $6.99. Kitchenaid timer $9.97. Then a free wrought iron gate off CL. It's 4' x 6'.

I just wrapped a Hanna Anderssen sweater, scarf and cap for our three yr old nephew's birthday next week. I wouldn't have paid the full price for a toddler but ordered at almost 60% off. I bought a 'forest friends' cardigan ($54 marked down to $24.99) too for a baby due any day now...young man who temped for us for a while and he was so nice (and efficient) - first baby and they know its a boy.

Schoolhouse -yes I meant $1.58. I read about it somewhere online a week ago. Here’s a cheat sheet to possibly find one. Do a google search for Walmart Brickseek. Enter the sku number 273565638 and your zip code. A list of area Walmart’s will come up with the in store price and a rough idea of how many are in stock. Also try sku 225615505 for the medium size autumn wreath fur $1.38.
