Thank you so much for the information. I enjoyed the browse! Earlier in the day, after work, I went out and bought a quart of Dunn-Edwards Navajo White, which has a green tinge. Now I think I'm warming up to stepping it up a notch after seeing those pictures. Part of my problem is I have the pretty blues and greens in my nearby living room that would look so pretty with some of the yellow/olive like hues of green. But beyond my kitchen (and visible) is a step down area and den that are a green grey, which unfortunately doesn't look great with the maple, otherwise I'd just carry it on up. I wish the yellow that was on the wall worked, but I don't think it looks good with my silestone. I do like how it looks with the maple though. Here is a picture. I'm hoping a darker green might do the trick to work with both areas. I have spent so much $$ on paint samples that it is embarrasing! :-) Here is a link that might be useful:

Hey, thanks for all of your fast feedback - it's fun to wake up and find postings waiting! Okay, "Honey, stop the car" is out. I have never seen a sign like that used before and thought it was amusing, but can see how it could get on someone's nerves. I hate cutesy realtor-speak as well. I specifically do NOT want to announce my bed/bath count right off the bat. We have a 3/1.5 which isn't unusual for our area. However, we had two couples that were very interested, yet ultimatley decided they wanted two full baths. No one is going to want this house because of it's bathroom count or three ordinary bedrooms. Why will they want it? Because of the wonderful floor plan and our family room addition (we added on a beautifully designed FR with loads of windows, skylights, FP, built-ins). Because of the 1st floor laundry or large eat-in kitchen (both are unusual around here). Because everything expensive has been replaced or updated recently - roof, windows, furnace, a/c, hwh, electrical, new paver patio, new landscaping, garage door & opener, fence. The baths are new. The kitchen cabinets are 15 years old and everything else was updated when we did the additon. I feel the kitchen is in a good place in that you could rip it out without feeling guilty, but it isn't so old and ugly that it would be painful to live with if you had to keep it. How do I say that on a sign - LOL! Back to wording... you all have convinced me to drop "maintenance free". I was trying to convey the idea that everything has been updated, and "Updated throughout" is probably better, non? I'll probably go with "open floor plan", simply because "great floor plan" sounds like there isn't anything else positive to say! BTW, this is a 50s ranch, so there were no wonderful architectural details to preserve and the renovation really does fit the flavor of the house. We were very conscious of that going into our project and hired an architect to make sure it was done right. Of course we will have an info box with the sign, as we have had the entire time. I played around with the sign and could put another line of info on there, so it would read... for sale 1900 square feet open floor plan updated throughout 555-5555 www.blahblah.com Any thoughts? Laughable- thanks so much for the link, perhaps we can do something like that this summer when we have more time. Looks like a great fix for now until we can save the 3K for window treatments. Whit- our kitchen is just over 16' long and 12' wide. For the lighting plan we actually have a small pendant to still put in over the kitchen sink. We originally purchased 2 pendants over the peninsula, but with the kitchen light fixture, dining chandelier so close by we nixed it. We used the highly GW rec. home depot LED 4" lights. We had the electrician put them where we needed them most and have 8/9 in the kitchen and then more threw out the first floor. They are all on dimmers. With out the uppers to worry about shadows on the countertop we rarely turn them all the way up. During the day I rarely turn on any lights as the place gets lots of natural light. Good luck with your remodel. I really working in this kitchen and find it plenty big for us. We hosted Christmas and had about 5-6 people cooking/prepping and it was great. Cleans up well and the peninsula has been perfect for my 3 year olds meals and craft time and keeps her at bay while I cook. Just wanted to ad our much anticipated new addition finally made her debute fashionably late on 2/13/13, a successful VBAC: We are enjoying her just as much as the kitchen ;)

What a beautiful room lots of wonderful windows to bring in the light. It is amazing the color in one photo has a green cast the other looks more gray green. Such a wonderful place you will have to work with. Let me understand....... Wood counter, wood floors and white cabinets? Am I correct ? And you would keep the wood built in? Are you going to try to match the woods or stay in similar tones? What stain colors for the floor and countertop? You will rip out the carpet and put in wood? It looks like you have lots of wood trim too. Do you have to have wood counters? It might be nice to bring in a stone like surface. Are you thinking something like this below?
