red lover, I bought the blancowave sink in the link for my pending remodel. Got a deal on ebay, so went ahead and bought it. After just looking at it lying there in the box for a few weeks whispering to me how much I would like to be using it, I finally caved and jerry-rigged an installation in the non-remodeled kitchen over the weekend. (It is an undermount sink, I have laminate counters, it is supposed to need a 42" sink base, I have 36 inches, the hole in the counter for the existing sink was totally the wrong size and shape, blah blah whatever. watch me make it work anyway). So far, I love it. The large side is big enough to hold my largest baking sheet, roasting pan, or largest skillet with handle; the small side is still big enough for a colander or stockpot. To follow up on this thread, I ended up going to a showroom and seeing the Vigo sink I loved in pictures/ online, and turns out - it was nice but not worth the extra trouble of jury-rigging it. I ended up going with the double Kraus 60/40 D shaped sink, with D-shaped for main sink and more mini-rectangular for the breakaway sink and I LOVE it! the main sink is big enough for most of our bigger pans, and the side sink is perfect for washing vegetables or smaller pans, filling our water filter carafe etc., and it's deep. What I love about Kraus is that it came with all these extras like a grid at the bottom, and strainers, and I bought a big hefty faucet as part of the package and it's really artistic and pretty. The whole package was around $600 from faucet direct - not cheap don't get me wrong, but including a matching faucet with the sink and the extras meant it looks good and cleans up well... after all the back and forth, deciding mostly among Vigo, Franke and Kraus (with a little of some other manufacturers in there) and wanting a 70/30 and "settling" for a 60/40, and not wanting a D-shaped - it worked out in the end.

The faucet and dispenser holes are filled with scraps from the cut-out. This is a job I did last week; removing a failed polyester bowl from a polyester solid surface top and replacing it with a stainless steel sink. No countertops were removed in the process. It isn't that much different with stone, the trick is making sure the footprint of the replacement is identical to or larger than that of the original. I've had budget-conscious clients that didn't care that the negative reveals were off on their replacement sinks in stone. Sink, faucet, soap dispenser, and disposal replacement, plumbing, top refinish and cleanup (ooo..it's messy) just over 3K. That's a Mirabelle sink made in Vietnam. Nice.

Zmat - I think there is room to spare. If you trim by an inch or so, at worst , with the faucet pushed all the way up, the tube might bump the window,. I'm not sure about the hardware underneath, though, since I didn't install myself. I snapped a picture to see what it looks like under there , and looks like the base on ours is rotated a bit anyway, so hopefully not an issue. It wouldn't hurt to reach to Brizo to see what they say. attaching a couple of pics so you can see the clearance.
