Paint Design Dilemma Kitchens

Quartz with white dove cabinets

Hi,

We chose white dove cabinets with an island that has walnut cabinets. We are going for a contemporary look but not super modern. We want white quartz counters. We are thinking pentalquartz cascade white. Should the white quartz be lighter or darker than the cabinets? We have doug fir ceilings and will likely have red oak floors so there is a lot going on, which is why we are trying to have the cabinets and counters look simple and clean. Thanks!

Pental Cascade White has that little bit of off white to it. It is a warm tone. I am looking at a sample as I type. You have warm color in the floor, ceiling, island so I think you are going to be fine. What I would suggest to be sure is get a sample of the cabinet color-if the cabinet builder can get you a door with the Dove paint color then request one, it should be no charge. Gather all your other samples as well and look at them in the space as the natural and artificial light (if it is installed yet) will determine if all finishes work well together. You are investing in a lot of expensive materials, this is the time to be certain and not skip a step.

PS I like warmer colors and so not really thrilled with lots of gray, especially in backsplash. I'm also considering Caesarstone Cashmere Carrara.

No problem, and thank you! Our kitchen was previously a garage so it really came a long way! It was quite the renovation. Our cabinet doors are from Semihandmade. I’m not sure whether they would be standard or full overlay. The doors and drawers completely cover the cabinet frame though. Our countertops are a white quartz, and our backsplash is a marble subway tile. All goes very well with BM White Dove and Natural Cream!

First of all, your cabinets will not look like that chip. When they are installed, take a sample door to the stone yard. When those two elements are in, you will be able to choose a backsplash. You need to see the cabinets and counters in your space and lighting. BM White Dove has a gray undertone.
