Ladies, what skincare products do you use and love?
Comments (78)Don't smoke or drink either. And there's no question that desert is a major food group! :)) I use Olivia Care Olive Oil Soap on my face and in the shower - love the Verbena scent and all those suds! In the winter I don't need moisturizer. I buy it at TJMaxx. For 20 years I've used a Buff Puff on my face. For facial moisturer Jergens Skin Firming Lotion. I've used several others that I really liked, and every time I ran out and went to buy more, they were discontinued or had added obnoxious fragrance. How exasperating! I don't like the strong fragrance in the heavier duty "regenerating" lotions. I find that smiling works best on the Howdy Doody lines - hate those things! Can't bring myself to lay out $20 for a tiny little jar so I guess this is it. Sherry...See MoreSkin care/make-up/recent questions here . . .
Comments (7)From what I gathered they have different formulas (mature skin, sensitive, etc.) but looks like they could just eliminate fragrance from it all. As long as it doesn't smell BAD, I don't care if it smells (face products that is). My face still feels a tiny bit dry/tight today. No flaking. I'm wondering if it will take a few days to get used to it. Today is my third day. I'm thinking it is the cleanser that makes me feel dry, so if this continues, I will stop that and see how it feels with the other products. I'm also curious about their eye cream that is supposedly good for dark circles. Let me know if you find something you like! tina...See MoreAnyone with experience using Obagi skincare?
Comments (24)What about laser treatments? I wonder if anyone has had real success with them. I did a series of them a few years ago for my many spots. (I have freckles, which I don't mind, but now I also have sun damage spots mixed in, making my face look like some sort of sepia-toned map of the world when I don't have makeup on.) The laser turned a lot of the spots darker at first, then they basically fell off. I have one biggish spot in particular on my cheek that bothers me more than anything, and that one didn't go away completely but it was definitely lighter. The problem is, within a year all the spots were back. I can't afford to do laser treatments all the time! I even had a dermatologist try to "burn" off that one dark spot with that thing they use to burn off minor moles. That didn't work a bit. I do have the Obagi hydroquinone cream that I bought from Amazon. Unfortunately, I'm not that religious about using it but an aesthetician told me with these products you have to really use them religiously for many months to see a real difference. When I did use it religiously for a while, what I noticed is that the spots darkened at first (I didn't use it on my whole face, just on a couple of really annoying spots) and then peeled a bit, and finally they did lighten up. So I'm trying to do that again. What I really want is a magic instant eraser! I am in the middle of a second series of microdermabrasion treatments that I started last spring. I go about once a month (I didn't go in summer). I think that has lightened some of the smaller spots, and definitely makes my skin look clearer in general....See MoreCosmetic fillers (revisited)
Comments (101)I thought it sounded like a lot of filler too. I've got a call in to Dr. D's office to clarify a few things. I know nothing about fat transfer, but will do some research. Dr. D did tell me that the area on my face that is starting to slightly jowl is not as a result of saggy skin, but I have excess fat in that area and due to other parts of my face on which gravity is taking its toll, the jowling is taking on more of a prevalent look. I don't know if I should be pleased to know that it's not just saggy skin but a fat face that I have! LOL!...See MorePeppapoodle
