If ya'll hadn't guessed by now, the vendor is Vintage Gardens. NO fault of theirs whatsoever - mailed on time, packed well, their usual marvelous service. I got a lovely, lovely email from Gregg.....I cant believe how busy he is and still had time to respond. There is a possibility he can replace in the fall - and I told him I would be glad to repay as this wasn't his fault - just want the roses! Whatever compensation I get from the PO I will give to him. The guy, David, who took my complaint said he understood why I was upset, said his mother is a plant addict too.....so hopefully I wont just be getting lip service. But its the government, after all! I am going to go ahead and repot these babies that are still green and pray they wont go into a tailspin and die. We got cooler weather and some lovely rain this evening - maybe the rain will help revive them whereas the local water might not. And the coolness! Think I will take before photos.......these will truly be miracle roses. Thanks for all the comments and words of advice. Am really worried about disturbing these roses, but thinking that the soil might be sour and would do the roots in makes me want to get them in some better soil right away. I have no idea how I'm going to fit all these bulbs in my home (I don't have a greenhouse) and I've spent several hundreds of $$$ on just the bulbs (I'm going to also have to purchase potting soil/claypots). You know what the most saddest thing is? I sorta lied to myself ordering all these bulbs saying I would give most of them away as Christmas gifts. However, going down the list, all of the varieties are not in my collection yet so it would make no sense to give them away as gifts. I think the most atrocious thing of all is, I still want to buy more bulbs. I would love to order Ambiance from Royal Colors and would be happy to have Popov in my collection. With that said, I haven't even taken a look at whats available locally and I know I'll buy certain varieties if I don't have them. I know, I know....I think I'm addicted. Yet, I try to make myself feel better by telling myself that this addiction is better than being addicted to drugs or alcohol and plus, I only splurge at this advanced pace only once a year (amaryllis season). I'm sure many of you all in the U.S. are feeling it, but the economy is a mess. At times like this, people are encouraged to spend less, and save. I feel bad about pampering myself with all these bulbs. But yet again, I try to reason with my inner me by telling myself that if I don't spend, I'm making the economy worse off by not putting money into our financial system, therefore not giving businesses revenue, making people lose jobs due to lack of sales/profits. Excuses, excuses, excuses.....I know. How I am going to explain all these new pots and bulbs to my friends and family who visit, I do not know and cannot tell. But, I find peace within myself thinking of the plethora of shapes and colors I will have before me during the cold winter months here in Virginia. Thank you all for listening (this has been really getting at my conscience) and I appreciate your support. They are bugging me to go pick up some candy to fill the basket and confiscated the books as soon as I pulled them out of the box. lol. They'll have to wait on the candy till they work for it going door to door. :o) You made my day with all the bulbs. Mine disappeared on me. Dug up the one bed to re-do the border and divided the bulbs and only found one sad little bulb in all that dirt I sifted through. Thank you so much for everything. My neighbor across the street has her's surrounded by a stone border and has lots of lamb's ear, alliums, tulips, and some type of mounding grass. It looks great every year even with the snow plows dumping heavy snow and spreading salt in the winter. So Ta DA! One more masquerading petal pusher has been revealed! 2 more slips in my mailbox for packages that the troll won't deliver today. Grrrrrr. Fed Ex finally delivered my stuff, after almost a week. but at least they delivered it. I had reached the end of my rope after I called them, after they said my address was wrong and that they couldn't deliver. They told me that I COULD NOT VERIFY MY OWN ADDRESS, that the shipper had to do it. And that I could not pick it up myself, at the shippers instructions. So the shipper (JEGs) got an email and even though we agreed that the FedEx driver was likely just overwhelmed and stalling, especially as my address is an actual address, despite what FedEx says, they called me and then called FedEx while I was on the line and pitched a fit, and it was finally delivered today, although violently. Good thing it wasn't fragile. I thought it was SO stupid that I could not go pick it up, especially if these drivers are so overwhelmed. Its not like I don't have to pick up half my mail at the post office myself anyway, might as well make a stop at FedEx too right? UPS, as always, delivering as expected. When I pick up those 2 packages from the post office tomorrow, I do not expect anything else to show up until after Christmas. Most of those things are things for me, so that's fine. I haven't heard anything about the cards/cash I sent, so I do not know if they will get there in time or not. I never hear anything, that is, I usually do not get any sort of acknowledgment, unless I text their mothers and ask if they got it or not.
