I worked for Ethan Allen for a few months & have always thought their furniture was well constructed and I consider them pretty high-end myself. I was able to buy a really nice sofa while I worked there, as well as a parson's chair that I use as a desk chair. I do think for the most part their casegoods are very well made, although they are now importing the highly carved pieces in some of their collections from China. A lot of the wood pieces are still made here in the USA, so I still think they are good quality for the most part. I was, however, extremely disappointed in this parson's chair that I bought off the floor while I worked there. It is less than 3 years old & all of a sudden, I noticed it was sagging in the middle. I took it apart enough to see that the cushion board was split. I called the local EA store, took it in for them to look at, & they would not stand by the frame warranty at all. This is a chair that only I sit in daily & there's no way it should have fallen apart like that. Since they would NOT repair it, I took it back home, finished taking off the black fabric underneath so I could really see what was going on. Much to my surprise, I found that the seat board that sat on top of the wooden frame legs (thankfully, the frame IS wood), was totally made out of some sort of dense cardboard material & it had completely splintered in 3 places. Luckily, my DH and I had some spare small pieces of 1x4 lumber that we cut to fit and I screwed 2 of those into the bottom of the seat board, right into the wood frame of the seat & that took care of the problem. At least my chair is not a total disaster, but I was totally shocked at the material they used for that seat cushion to sit on! So, just beware that even in a nice furniture store, they can cut corners...and they will most likely not stand by their warrenty if they think they can get away with it. I was told since I bought the chair off the floor that the warranty didn't apply! WHAT????

I have a sectional sofa with Crypton fabric in color pumice from American Leather. American Leather has the most amazing sofa bed available on the market. If it wasn't for the need of the sofa bed, I would get rid of it immediately! It does resist stains. And is very east to clean off stains from food, wine etc as advertised. BUT and this is s BIG BUT...It holds on to lint, hair, fuzz, animal hair. It looks dirty all thie time. I have to need to use a lint brush on my sofa almost every day. And vacuum with an apholstery attachment It is soft and comfortable to sit on. But, you can not move /slide on the sofa. Meaning you can not slide or move around in order to get comfortable and/or lie down. It is not a smooth fabric. It catches you. Do not recommed for a family room

Loving my gorgeous Crypton Nomad Snow fabric on my reupholstered family room sofa. My husband spilled red wine on it about 3 weeks after we got it home <aaaahhhh!>. I cleaned it immediately with a very light spray of hydrogen peroxide and then a light spray of a fabric cleaner, wiped with a dampened face cloth. The wine came out immediately. No sign of it now. We've also had numerous dirty dog paw prints that came out easily as well. BARGAIN HUNTING TIP - After scouring the internet, I found a GREAT DEAL on the Nomad Snow fabric online at Hobby Lobby for $13/yard! That's the sale price, but the regular price is still ridiculously cheap at $22/yd (it goes on sale often). Bought an extra bolt just to have for future projects. If your are in the market for a new upholstered piece of furniture, it's worth finding out the manufacturer's COM (customer's own material) pricing and supplying your own fabric. I'm in the process of doing that now with a new living room sofa. Also, if you find a really reasonably priced reupholsterer, a little know secret is that most manufacturer's will ship their furniture unupholstered, covered in a muslin base and ready to be upholstered. I bought the Remington sectional. I loved the look and how similar it is to the RH Maxwell. It was delivered last week and the dimmensions were over 2.5" shorter than the size we ordered which meant that the depth was 37" insted of 40". It's way to short to sit on. The length and width were also cut short. I contacted Arhaus immediately and they were going to look into the problem and have since gone radio silent. A week has passed and I have a mini sectional sitting in my family room and I am livid. The fact that they weren't absolutely mortified to know what an error they made was a telling sign in the beginning. WORST COSTUMER SERVICE! I am going to file a complaint with BBB. If you look at the BBB website for this company there are MANY other complaints about the products they received. Save yourselves the headache and order from somewhere else. If anyone bought a similar looking sofa they are happy with let me know....I am back to square one!
