I think you need more on your coffee table, maybe bring in some of the colors from the painting over the sideboard. Get a pretty basket/container for the dog toys!

Thanks Beverly for the suggestions. I’m gonna try moving the table the other way. The light fixture was definitely a mistake size wise but were kinda stuck with it now unless I find someplace else for it in my house and get a new one for there. What’s even more frustrating about it is there is no option to make it lower than that height either. I’m going to go today to look for some things and will try to focus on rounds as opposed to squares I see what you mean. The pillows are from home sense which is actually a new chain from tjmax and Marshall’s. It’s a great store I found a lot of awesome things there! Anybody have any advice re drapes?

Someone said: I believe the Houzz experts (and I am NOT one!) suggest the TV be 2/3 the width of the TV cabinet. No no no no no. The TV cabinet needs to be at least 25% wider than the TV. Wider is always better. There is no minimum size for the TV. Do not hang that guitar between the windows. Do not hang anything between the windows. Your curtains are perfect. Hang the guitar on the wall just left of the TV, get some art for over the sofa, and add just a touch more red to echo the arc lamp (which is tres cool, BTW). You've done a great job so far. Draperies: Bring up the two chairs and place across from sofa. Opposite end, put the black chest under the wall art; move large arm chair and floor lamp to the right of it; to the left leave the black ladder and tuck the floor plant into the corner. Make sure the plant is in a container that is at least 1/4 the height of the plant wide.
