Comments (14)We are not window treatment people either, but have started to add some as we've reno'd/decorated a few of the rooms in our house; two bathrooms and our office. They really do help to finish off a room. That said, we're not covering our kitchen bow window, or the DR bow window, though I might consider something for the DR window at some point--just for the window panes themselves, not to cover the whole bow-unit. We used Hunter Douglas' Designer Screen Shades in the Roman Shade style (ours are mounted inside the frames becuase of our window style/frame depth). The shades are very clean-lined and range in sheerness. With the sheerer weaves/fabrics, you can see outside with them down and they allow a lot of light in....See MoreWindow treatments for whole wall of windows.
Comments (3)I thought about a tension rod with sheers. We could move the tension rod down lower when the window is open. Then I realized that is a really wide tension rod to be moving every time I open a window. I wish I could find pleated cellular fabric so I could make my own shade and make it go upside down. Or even an extra wide roller shade hung upside down....See MoreLong window on one side of tv wall - unbalanced
Comments (34)Consider putting a corner cabinet to the right of your tv. Pick one with solid bottom doors (for things you don't want to display) and glass front doors above. Having a curio cabinet for displaying family photos is preferable to hanging them on the living room wall and you can also display family treasures, moving the items you want to be seen close to the front glass door and other items behind it -- unlike photographs hanging on the wall, displaying them this way makes it easy to change what is seen front and center (and what is not given a prominent place) according to your mood and/or the season....See MoreWindow treatments for master bedroom window with little wall on either
Comments (9)Thanks for your input Patricia. I don’t have other pictures of the bedroom at this time, but there is nothing in it anyway. It is one empty rectangular 11x15 ft box with the window you see and a door. I actually like the view. I like the urban look with the old brick building I can see in addition to the park below me and mountains in the background (to the left). I thought that for drapes I needed more wall space on either side of the window to hold enough fabric to cover the window properly. If I had all that fabric, it would cover some of the window, limiting the natural light I get....See MoreL & L Window Fashions
