What is your favorite place to buy seeds?
Comments (12)Hi Heather here's my 2 cents... Q: if I can get some heirloom tomato seeds, then grow heirloom tomatoes, can I dry out & re-use the seeds from these tomatoes? A: Yes. That's how you do it. Very simple. Q: do you trade here on the Florida board, or do you use a general Garden Web trading board? A: I've done both. Trades as well as gifts from generous GW'ers from several areas (Florida forum, Seed Exchange and Tomato Exchange/Tomato Forum). A couple times a year the Seed Exchange has a "newbie" offer that give free seeds to newbies from other GW'ers. Another way to get started is to buy one kind of seed that is uncommon and desirable so you have something to offer and ask for trades. You'll get lots of different stuff to grow or trade for more stuff. It's a little addictive and fun to get stuff in the mail. (I've had to explain to my mailman what's in my mail). I don't see anything on your "want" list. Surely you want some seeds.......See MoreEveryone has a least favorite gardening activity....what's yours?
Comments (28)Yup I have a readers digest book from 1978 I was just rereading and low And behold man was going to cause an ice age LOL. In the mean time I think we need to garden and changing weather seems to be a fact of life as does talking about it. He he, back to O P on gardening. I hate to water I put in a square foot garden, Mel's mix and all. I like to use soft water as our tap water just don't seem to work for growing. Well we had a dry year here so I was stuck going to the local lake, no problem except my raised beds needed 2 inches of water a week what a pitb. Whats with that? My small in ground bed needed water only twice in the same period of time (about 6 weeks) twelve times for the raised beds. So what do I hate, watering my garden! curt :-)...See MoreWhat is Everyones favorite Soap Receipes?
Comments (3)I made a cool grundgy soap Cinnamon/Peppermint I first made a bar of peppermint soap (used the EO) and cut it into chuncks, then made the cinnamon part using 1/2 clear & 1/2 white base added a little coco, cinnamon, oatmeal, and some cinnamon FO. As that was cooling I added the peppermint chuncks and poured it into a rubbermaid drawer organizer. It had a beautiful brown color from the coco. I gave it away as gifts, I placed a cinnamon stick on top and tied it with raffita....See MoreSeed Order Placed with Mr. Ko - No Response
Comments (37)Agartta, thanks very much. I appreciate it. I have been doing exactly that: waiting it out. As I said before, time will tell. I have contacted my ISP regarding their Block List and whether or not Mr. Ko's email address and/or domain is on their block list. It's crazy how people don't believe that a seller's business could go south. I'm not saying that Mr. Ko's business has gone south... I'm sure it hasn't. But if it happens, it has to start with someone. It's not impossible. It seems that some don't want to know what is going on. I don't understand that. Almost all of the suppliers - of seeds and plants alike - have been scrutinized here in great detail! I've read the posts! Heck, even Rinoa had to reconsider a transaction from the recent past. Why wouldn't you want to know about this, especially if you regularly deal with Mr. Ko? I'm not asking anyone to defend him - I'm just passing along the information. (Hmmm, maybe that has been the problem all along. I should have posted from Day One: "No replies or defense necessary - just stating facts.") If I was in the market for buying seeds and read this, I would want to know and I wouldn't want others to squelch the info. That is so puzzling to me why some want to suppress valuable sharing of information. Not too long ago, a wise person said, "It's good to look out for each other. It's what makes us a community. Even if sometimes we butt heads over potting mixes, best training or grafting methods, styles, whatever. Adeniums brought us together." Thanks, again, Agartta. One more time: Time will tell!
