Please show me what your marble mosaic shower floor wet.
Comments (2)that was so nice and helpful of you, Kevin. it appears to me that the only thing changing is the grout, which looks wetter temporarily. i wonder why on earth my tile is also getting so wet. by the way, your shower inspired me and my guest bathroom floor is now a black border with white square marble mosaics and the shower floor is a smaller size black marble square mosaic. it looks really sharp....See MoreBest Way to Install Marble Mosaic Shower Floor?
Comments (2)The person who owns that shower is actually someone I met in this forum-- Staceyneil. We still never did figure out what the real cause was. We HAVE ruled out alot of things, but the one thing we know was a problem was moisture somehow holding suspended in the mud bed. I DO have a fix that I'm confident will take care of the problem, though.... as soon as Artistic Tile sends us some tile we can use!! :-( As for calming your fears, I really can't. That pan was put together the very same way I've put every shower pan (except Kerdi showers) for about 11 years now, the only update being the preslope under the membrane. This is NOT the only natural stone shower floor I've installed, either. But it IS the only one that's shown dark spots the way it did, and I can find no reason for it. The best thing your contractor can do is to make sure he puts a real good pitch UNDER the pan membrane, so that no water sits in the shower pan. The other thing is to make sure he puts gravel or spacers around the weepholes at the base of the drain in the flange, to make sure the weepholes don't plug up....See MoreHoned marble mosaic--bathroom & shower floors--maintenance nightmare?
Comments (2)It's a personal choice. You will have to seal them. Personally I would never put marble in the shower, but several people do. Search marble showers on here & read what people say. There have been tons of discussions about it....See MoreHow to whiten grout on mosaic marble shower floor?
Comments (1)Wet sand it with 3m wet dry paper on a hand sponge. sure to use a sponge or pad that will conform to the slope. grit 200, 300, 400 Hire a tiler w proper wet dry diamond polishers and EXPERIENCE using them if plan A scares you. Miracle 511 sealant after its polished honed and dry. Id be careful w grout colorants. Most are epoxy based and that can bleed color into honed stone if you go that route try a tiny test area. Normal cleaning with a poultice or nano scrub pumice type stone cleaner mixed w a ph neutral stone cleaner....See Moremjammjam
