Marble Safe Liquid Hand Soap
Comments (10)From what I've read it needs to be neither basic nor acidic; so ph neutral. I found Kiss My Face liquid hand soap and shower gel at our local health food store and the labels say ph balanced. I intended to get some litmus paper and test them, but I haven't. I've used both the hand soap and the shower gel and I don't notice any etching so far with this product, but I am careful. Looking forward to seeing what others may contribute. I'd like to find a ph balanced bar soap because I've heard they leave less residue than shower gels in general... My marble is all well sealed, but I noticed the KMF shower gel does have olive oil in the contents which doesn't sound like it would "mix" well with marble. Doing internet searches on this question has yeilded me little info (other than a few expensive webmail order items). I've run across info that Dove bar soap may be ph balanced, but I'm not sure whether that is true or not. I guess I'd better go find the litmus paper!...See MoreSave on 'Foaming' soap, dilute regular hand soap
Comments (8)I've used a couple styles of foam soap dispensers - had them long before Dial came out with theirs and the special liquid soap to go with them. I use the FOAMPUMP in the kitchen. I can do MUCH better in savings than the Consumerist web site shared. It takes 2-3 T. of regular liquid soap (not those that contain moisturizers, however) and about 2 cups of water. Instead of using a small pump dispenser of liquid soap each month, that same amount will last a year or more, using the FOAMPUMP. The other is EURO-FORMER. I use this for pricey shower gel-type liquid soap in the shower. Both foamers makes a thick mousse-type foam. -Grainlady...See MoreIn Sink soap DIspenser - Hand or Dish soap?
Comments (25)I understand the concerns about using dish soap if it tends to dry your hands. That hasn't been a probelm for me, but I do have a child with OCD who tends to wash more than necessary, so for a while I switched from the antibacterial dish soap to a dish soap that was not antibacterial. It was gentler on the hands, and kept my child's hands from cracking (and sometimes bleeding) as they had with the antibacterial soap. Since then, I've diverted my child from constant hand washing to using hand sanitizer in between a normal amount of hand washing, which has solved the problem. Now I can use whatever kind of dish soap I want. But if it doesn't bother your hands, dish soap is a perfectly good hand soap. (My grandmother even used dish soap for shampoo, which I do occasionally for a super cleansing of all hair products from my hair, with no discernible harm.)...See MoreMamaP was right...Homemade liquid Dove soap
Comments (83)Ok its been a few days so I can give more opinions on Dove baby. By the way I also bought the lotion. I love the soap, it doesn't leave a feeling on my skin like some moisturizing soaps do including Dove White, but does leave it very smooth, soft, and supple...the scent left on the skin is extremely light. Pat you might like this soap. The lotion I do not like not at all except for the very light almost no fragrance. It leaves a very sticky feel, even into the next day its sticky. However I have an area below my elbow about the area of an egg that's very dry, red, itchy, and sore..I'm a leaner so I tend to put my elbow area on my knees and lean forward a lot anyway I've been using this lotion several times a day for 3 days now on that area...I can still see a pinkish area, but its now smooth and the itch is gone as is the iirritating pain so I'd say it did a great job on a problem area. I will not use this as an all over lotion but will use it for problem areas...I'd suggest you try it Pat. Chip my 8yo has some eczema around both ankles, I've used the soap and lotion on him since Thursday applying the lotion to the eczema areas 3 times a day..the eczema is not cleared up, but well on its way. Just for this alone its a keeper. I haven't ask Amiee today for her thoughts yet. Tim my 9yo wouldn't use lotion for love or money lol, I should probably insist as its part of healthy skin care. so in a nutshell the soap is lovely and the lotion great only for problem areas....See Morecyn427 (z. 7, N.
