Steve J, I think you're misinformed. From what I found, security support for Win 7 is still very active and will continue for several more years. Double check it yourself.

Zep, I think this might help me however the top line says "Your PC has been subjected to the "DoublePulsar" attack". I don't think I have been attacked but that I may be in danger of being attacked. So what should I do?

That link zep posted mentions an alternate fix is to Restart your computer and run windows updates. When was the last time you have Restarted your computer or have run windows updates ?

I restart my PC every morning. I am way over-do for checking for updates. I guess I turned off the automatic check because I do not want Windows 10! I've got it running now but nothing is happening.

Elmer, mainstream support is over, but extended support has a couple years yet. Any and all fixes will come out for the newest OS’s first, and most of your vulnerabilities will focus on the older ones first.

And my response was/is - I don't think that's correct, security updates are still produced and released. So long as that's the case, I believe the bases are covered. Are you suggesting the security updates are ineffective?

The updates themselves are not. But they’re not effective if users dont do them. And they’re not as effective on the older os’s if they’re updating the newest os’s first.
