Neolith Counter - A good option?
Comments (1)@jplochman - Hi there! We (TheSize) manufacture Neolith, so I thought I could provide some insight! If you message me your location, I can get you in touch with your local distributor of the product--they'll have some past clients you can speak to who have the product installed in their homes. We're also happy to send some samples if you're curious about durability and want to test for yourself! The Polished option is quite new, but is visually stunning. It is very slightly more susceptible to scratching than our other finishes (Satin, Silk and Riverwashed), but still stands up to harsh chemicals, hot pots, acidic foods, constant moisture, etc. Let me know what other questions you have!...See MoreHelp! Is my new Neolith countertops cut and installed wrong? See pic.
Comments (19)Still can't post pictures using full site on my laptop but I can post pics using phone app. So weird. Thanks everyone for the ideas. Talked to fabricator, basically he measured/cut wrong. Nothing can be done at this point. They also broke one of the dual vanity bathroom sink when installing vanity counter. When I tried to order another sink for the dual vanity, it'd been discontinued, argh. May need to remove the one sink already installed and buy 2 new sinks. I hate Murphy's Law. Here are more pics. Kitchen peninsula is 123" x 44" plus a another small section that make up the L shape. The seem was done well. A corner was chipped a little. A close up pic shows a surface scratch (really hard to see) and a crack under the surface easily seen. I put an iPhone 6 Plus and a 1.5" glass cabinet door knob on the peninsula as reference. Really love the inset cabinets....See MoreMy CRACKED NEOLITH
Comments (25)"Poor fabrication is exactly how Corian lost its standing as a luxury countertop material. DuPont had problems with their fabricators, told them they all had to be re-certified by them, granite was just coming out, most chose to go with granite and not be re-certified, and then bad-mouthed Corian." When DuPont decertified everyone and only re-certified those who attended Corian school, they lost half their fabricators, but warranty claims dropped by 80%. They also made you have a shop and a full time salesperson. Take notes Neolith. Had you spent some time in countertop history class, you wouldn't have to repeat DuPont's mistakes....See MoreWhite Silestone? Eternal Calacatta Gold?
Comments (3)I have Silestone Calacatta Gold for my kitchen countertops. I don't use turmeric or bottled ink so I can't comment on those stains. but the other items on your list, I just wiped up with a sponge. Don't know what would have happened if I had left them overnight, though. I did have a coffee stain that was left all day (from breakfast and didn't see till after dinner cleanup. Morning clean up is not too vigorous!). Cleaned up with a damp sponge. The trick with all surfaces and stains is to wipe up, clean off, or damp blot right away....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
