My daughter and I just got home from San Antonio. I've been up since 4 am. Tried to sleep on the road when she was driving both going and coming home, but it didn't work too well. I have trouble sleeping when someone else is driving. She slept the last few hours so she could go out with her boyfriend. She will miss her dinner reservation, though. Not sure she's going to make it by midnight. We had too many bathroom stops along the way.

My son has graduated from basic training! They got 5 days of town pass because of the holiday but we had to leave this morning so Lauren could go out tonight. Luckily Alex has friends (a married couple) in San Antonio and can spend today and tomorrow with them off base. We met them for meals the last two days. The funny thing is they all met while playing WOW on-line about 10 years ago. They've met before and are friends with other people in other states and all of Alex childhood friends from our town.

Alex has another week of transitioning to tech school and then he'll spend 8 or 9 days in Lackland at a different location for part of his job. He'll then go to California for about 16 months to learn his language. At least that's what he thinks will happen, he still hadn't gotten his orders yet when we spent Saturday with him. A couple guys in his flight will be doing the same job so at least he'll know a couple people already.
