need help with kitchen flooring! can’t find tile
Comments (3)IMo the easy answer it to rip it out and should have been done from the beginning adding another layer of frlooring on top will create a whole new set of issues like your DW won’t fit under the counter . Rip it out get some vinyl tile so much easier on feet and knees and do this right. Even if you could find the same tile the dye lots from then til now will make the tile look diferent anyway. IMO do it right the first time. Do you have 48” walkways allaround that island just out of curiosity and maybe you could remove the tile from under the island to replace the ones you need to replace ....See MoreHelp with kitchen floor!

Comments (4)Hi! Just some additional background... We've been renovating the home for the past year. We love it, but it just needed some TLC. The tile floor has since been removed, because sadly there were many cracked tiles and we were unable to find matching tile to replace them. The home has a lot of hardwood throughout (floors, trim), which is all staying (unpainted). The corian counters also have some sizeable cracks in them as well, so they will need to be replaced down the road. (Which makes me cringe because I know it's most ideal to coordinate all parts at one time, but the project list here is large!) I love timeless and neutral. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!!...See MoreNeed help with kitchen flooring, cabinet paint and quartz countertops
Comments (3)I think it is funny you want to stay true to the age of the home but want fake plastic counters . Waht exactly are you remoddelling/ The whole house or just the kitchen? We need pictures and a floor plan you post the plan here in jpeg showing every measurement clearly. The pics posted here too but in comments . Are you keeping the original cabinets? My opinion on renovating older homes is bathrooms and kitchens need to be brought into the 21 st century thta is how we live now . The finishes can be a bit more like the original if you want. So the flooring was probably never large format tile and what is the floor in the rest of the house? Can the house handle tile floor? Many older homes have a lot of movement in the joists so cracking tile is an issue. even more so with large format ones. I will wait fot the plan and the pictures DO NOT start another post....See Morecrushedpurple
